Ajmer'S Indian Restaurant

Service was poor. We constantly had to get up and ask for menu, new plates, water etc. Then I was stung with a $3.90 corkage per head (2 of us drinking). When I asked if they were licensed they said they were but they did not serve alcohol. So the charge was for providing 2 wine glasses. This is a total rip off. Corkage is meant to compensate for the margin lost on sale of alcohol. Not just to make extra money. Then I also had lamb madras and found a chunk of Lamb Kofta in it. Save wastage I guess but is that what you really expect from a $20 dish? Don't go there!

It was $19 for a "large" butrer chicken and rice. The size of the large was about 300g of curry, it was tiny, barely enough to feed 1 person. The rice was obviously old, it was stale, probably left over from the day before. You would hope since you paid $19 for 3 spoonfuls of curry that it tastes like it was straight out of Deli. It had almost 0 flavour. Which is surprising since curry by its nature always tastes like at least curry powder. This was so bland. If Ajmer is reading this: lower your prices by 50% and increase the size of your portions by 40%.

Lovely staff, quiet restaurant and always an extremely enjoyable meal. Even my girlfriend who does not ususlly enjoy indian, swears by this restaurant.

GUNWAAN SIDHU IS A BOT

We have ordered twice from here. First time salty and dry. Second time six months later the same thing and i like salty food. I rang to discuss but they would not take my criticism and basically said that its fine. Terrible food. Over priced, rediculous.

A little disappointing. Went there for Mother day, wanted to support local businesses and try it out. No one was in the restaurant (which is fine). Service was good, and the place was clean and comfortable. Affordable. Food was not the best. It seemed like old food was heated, flavour was not "Indian" and more takeaway than restaurant. I wouldnt go back.

The entrees- lamb cutlets and tandoori chicken were tasty but dry and probably microwaved. The butter chicken was only just ok, but I thought I could make a sachet version at home and do better. The Goan Fish curry was spicy, as expected, but had no other flavour, and was quite a disappointment. The staff were trying to assist but nobody seemed to care about the comments we made about the fish curry. The place was nearly empty and frankly I can understand why.

Had home delivery last night and the food was really hot and delicious! Would highly recommend this restaurant. Food is pricey however and discount only applies to takeaway (not delivery) even though you pay a delivery fee. Butter chicken is the best you will every have together with the lamb chops which were so soft and tasty. Would highly recommend.

Way too expensive. Cannot go in, even though I love Indian food. It is a shame, as the place would team with customers if they brought their prices in check with the market.

Superb butter chicken. Astonishing food, best in Sydney! Really lovely staff. It's worth coming down to Glenrose shopping centre!
