Can't recommend this Cafe enough. The staff are superb, food services are quick.
Watch out the happy hour beer only for $5 - 500ml!!
They also have unique way in delivering shots for the patron of the day.
Ordered the "meat platter" for share and you know what? Yumm!!

User

Absolutely terrible and disorganised.
Saw a sign for happy hour and thought we would go for a quick beer. Waited waited waited no acknowledgement. Finally we were served. We asked if the IPA was happy hour we were told yes. Half way through pouring the beer we were told happy hour was over and they would be $13.50 each even though it wasn't even 7. Safe to say we won't be going back

Do not recommend for food at all. It is over priced and quality is ridiculously low. You can almost taste the freezer burn! The waitress was nice but the kitchen got our orders wrong and then an additional 10 mins to have this fixed. Went with a group of 7 and none of us would come back for lunch, and all except 2 got very different things off the menu. I know they have cheap wing days but once you'll taste them, you'll know why.. They have a good range of drinks though, guess it's hard to get that wrong.

Fun night! The beer selection was great and the food was good. We had experienced poor service before but this time was much improved and we had a great night. Will definitely call for reservation again.

User

Great food and beer, especially during happy hour. Nothing beats the flavour of a five dollar pint with chicken wings for a buck. Deliciously authentic buffalo sauce as well.
Great atmosphere and staff that are just the right level of attentiveness. Recommended 👍🏻

This place is getting worse evertime I visit it. They have excluded all the good beers they have in menu from happy hours discount. Sosages used to come with 2 optional sides, now It's only one. But staff is friendly and music is good.

User

Large size place which fills up with the post-work crowd weeknights. Good selection of beer, wine and cocktails and the requisite schnitzel and sausage choices are well covered. Can get very noisy but a nice vibe in an otherwise quiet part of York St.

User

10/10 My friend went for the 1KG Schnitzelmeister with 4 sides of mash. The night started with a full plate, then an empty plate, then a full plate again (if you get what I mean). Wasn't pretty.

Awesome food, great staff, spectacular bier!

I was extremely disappointed with $32 spice rubbed rib sirloin. I have ordered it in the past and enjoyed it thoroughly to go back for it on 28/7/17. Sent the first one back as it was bland (no spice) and the meat was tough, chewy and full of gristle. The second one was the same. I raised the issue with the hostess who went and spoke to the chef only to be told "the menu has changed and this is the way it is". Well I sincerely think you need to check out your kitchen processes from the quality of the meat you buy and use, the marinating process, and the oily greasy way you cook the steak. Also the response to my concerns and issues were not responded to in a don't care less manner. Not that it will matter as you are generally packed out but hope you take my comments on board and make the required changes.

Generous serves of food especially pork knuckle but done just right. Good range of German beer. Service a little slow but the beer choice assists the wait. Food is worth the wait though and you won't leave feeling like the serving was too stingey. Great place for a group.

User

Food is ok but the service is slow. Prices are on the high side for the type of food.

It's a good place for large groups.

User

Good food and well priced. We went the shared plate for $75 between two of us and we could not finish it. Great selection of beer as you would expect.

User

Great service and attentive staff. A great location in the CBD to stop on a Sunday afternoon, with $5 drinks and 50c wings. Very much enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Buffalo Wings seemed hotter than Diablo Wings, but all were delicious!

User

Chicken breast was a bit dry.

Smoked pork belly was very nice, though I would have preferred crispy skin pork belly.

The lighting too weak, I couldn't visually distinguish fat from muscle. (see photos)

Too loud! I had to shout across a table for two to be heard. Didn't want to sit outside because of cigarette smoke.

Good food, but we escaped asap after finishing.

User

Exhausting. Chewing through what genuinely seemed to be a microwaved pork schnitzel and burnt old chips was hard work. Thankfully the beer selection made up for the kitchen's "i hate my job" attitude to food.

A great spot for lunch on a Sunny day, it is spacious which is great for groups & also families and kids. There is a big selection of drinks, especially beers available as well as a range of food including DIY salads. The ribs sounded tempting & came out looking luscious with a good amount of sauce. The flavour was not the best for me - had too much of a tang & the meat a little dry. The sausage platter had 5 types of sausages and came with sauerkraut & mash. This was nice as it was nice to try a variety & the sausages were all quite lean & not overly salty. The chicken parmigiana looked impressive but was again a little dry. DIY salad was huge! And was great to share and something lighter compared with the meaty dishes. Cheese burger & schnitzel for the kids are a good size with plenty of chips. The pretzels were yummy especially with butter, served warm with a crusty outside & fluffy inside. Overall an enjoyable meal.

User

Good fod but have all doors to outside area open and very cold. No help from staff to find seating out of very cold wind. Had to leave as not comfortable.

User

Had a great experience there with my family...had 1litre steins of quality beers.. very enjoyable

User

A bit overpriced, but the hot dogs are great and the beer is amazing.

User

Been coming here for years and they've always delivered! The services is always great, and the food is always fantastic! They took a small dive on the portion sizes for a short time, but then bounced back! Favourite dish is the Bavarian Tasting Platter since it includes a bit of everything!

User

Wouldn't know how good it is because we couldn't even get served. Is it really that hard to stay upto date on ordering systems or even just have enough staff on hand. Ridiculous.

User

Hardly anyone at the restaurant and yet I was made to wait to be seated for so long. After 17minutes by counting on my watch and so many eye contact and hello to staffs, yet no one is attend to give me a table. What a shame so I just left. No wonder the business is so quiet. Good luck to you sir👏

User

The beer is great but if you are from the USA don't bother going there. The Aussie staff is not as polite as the staff from other countries. We met a fantastic server but she was not from Sydney. She was a brilliant Spanish women who lit the place up. The servers from Sydney could care less. If your an Aussie go there but otherwise find another place.

User

Food was good but expensive. Beer was good. Good location. Very busy and packed out on football game night

User

I have been standing in the line for 20mins waiting to order at the bar!! No table service and we were told they're too busy and there are only 3 staff on the floor!! For God's sake, employ some efficient bar staff!

User

Super busy when there are events on. But at least still managed to get food and drinks in a reasonable time. They have a bunch of craft beers on tap but I'd stick with the original German beers.

User

Great beer selection and hearty meals. Can be tricky to get a seat if there is an event close by (eg football game or concert).
