Big Merino

NOW THiS IS A BIG MERINO! Spooky eyes though. Very Large testicles too. Certainly is a crowd pleaser.

It’s a giant sheep with a gift store. It’s pretty good. We made a pit stop whilst driving to Canberra. It’s a good enough reason if you need a break but not really a destination in itself. There are fast food and petrol stations located close to the sheep.

A great place to stop on the long drive from Sydney to Canberra. You can enter the merino from inside the gift shop and view the history of merino wool and its importance to the region.
Climb the stairs to the top to see what the merino sees, throw a few coins into the well on the way through to contribute to its upkeep and check out the merino based products and other Australiana in the gift shop.

First time I have been there. Clothing etc very good quality. Highly recommend it.

A cute landmark that's also a mini museum. Make sure you climb all the way to the top inside to look out of the ram's eyes.

The gift shop staff are lovely and the shop is stocked with high quality stuff... Not throw away kitsch.

Went back to visit having been here a lot add a kid.
Needs some updating on the inside.
Not even clear how you get in to walk up and look of the rams eyes. Be nice to also have done information on the actual Big Merino. Ie. When it was built, by who, how much concrete, how they built it.
Still a good photo opportunity and fun to zoe someone from overseas.

Good spot to stop in between Sydney and Canberra.

Pretty good as a landmark to stopover for a break if travelling between ACT and NSW

Great place to get a photo. Also great range of wool products. Pretty expensive though...
