About Campbelltown Arts Centre

Located on the edge of Sydney, Campbelltown Arts Centre (C-A-C) is in a unique position to forge collaborative exchanges between artists, disciplines and communities through the creation of new curatorial situations and challenging streams of practice. Using the edge as a starting point, Campbelltown Arts Centre creates a secure platform for communities and artists to take risks, challenge perceptions, confront issues and raise questions through the commissioning of new works. These new works invite collaboration, partnership, local, national and international dialogue, the juxtaposition of new and traditional techniques and cross-disciplinary approaches. Contemporary artists are at the forefront of Campbelltown Arts Centre's programming and through consultation with communities, we deliver a program that profiles contemporary visual arts, performance, dance, music, live art and emergent practices. Campbelltown Arts Centre is a cultural facility of Campbelltown City Council and located on Tharawal land. Campbelltown Arts Centre is assisted by the NSW Government through Create NSW and by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its funding and advisory body, and receives support from the Crown Resorts Foundation and the Packer Family Foundation. Argueably one of the best arts centres in Sydney.(Reported by critics to be 1 of the top 3) .Restaurant, performanc/theatre space,Japanese gardens, outdoor art space all in the same precinct

Great for weekend breakfast at the cafe and to see which exhibition is on as well was walk around the gardens

I share the sentiments of Mr Ricketts. Only two of the most recent exhibition rooms were either historically interesting or youthfully inspiring - while all the others fell short of any feasible 'artistic' standard or depth. No amount of spun descriptive content could sweeten the banal quality. Requires more foresight and sophistication to match the surrounds.

I wish to comment on the current exhibition 'Looking at me through you' which I viewed on Wednesday this week. I was looking forward to profitably spending an hour or so of idle time, as I have often done in the past. I was in and out in 25 minutes. The exhibition didn't offend me in any way, it was just uninteresting. My taste in art is fairly eclectic and I particularly enjoy being challenged by new approaches as much as I admire the old masters, however this exhibition had little to offer on any level. This is a shame as I have seen some wonderful exhibitions here in the past.

Good for some quiet time. The cafe for lunch is OK but pricey. Just very unusual and un-Australian it's Big Breakfast does not come with bacon or sausages or fried onions!

A jewel in the crown of what Campbelltown has to offer a growing community. Not just an art gallery, it has function rooms and a great cafe located alongside a beautiful Chinese garden.

We came here to hear the fishers ghost youth orchestra and found an excellent cafe and lots more to see and do

User

Great space for art. Excellent cafe inside the Japanese garden.

Cant believe this venue is free! Amazing venue and curation, good to see such cultural establishments in our outer suburbs. Will be back for the next exhibit.
