Over the last two decades, the iconic Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo has been increasingly observed in Centennial Parklands during the winter, despite declining across eastern and southern Australia. More info: http://bit.ly/2NYWCnq

Sulphur-crested Cockatoos are well known for the yellow (sulphur) of their crest. Why is this bird spreading its wings? It may be wary of the interest the flock is receiving. Keep an eye-out for cockatoos with #wingtags and report the number using the wingtags app to help us learn more about Sydney’s feathered friends. Photo credit: Jaiden Fairhead

Greetings,

I am extremely concerned about the appalling mess in Moore Park, which seems to have been present for months if not years. I don't understand what the plans are for that once pristine expanse of green, now so rare in congested Sydney, but I would appreciate some reassurance that in the end not one square metre of that Park will be sacrificed to the ever increasing tide of concrete in the city I once loved so much.

I am not alone in my feelings, and disenchantment with your government is steadily increasing, now furthered by the pointless waste of money demolishing and rebuilding the perfectly adequate football stadium which will no doubt do yet more damage to that wasteland which was once a park.

Please PLEASE leave Sydney's parks alone, and fix the damage your government has already done.

Yours, Sian Powell

A suitably regal and voluminous lodging, capable of communicating a long swish in the language of ancient fecundity and ornithological havens. Perfect for detecting webs.

This part combines aspects of a botanical gardens, unkept natural areas, swamps, ponds with amazing amount of birdlife. As a local resident I don't feel like I'm in the city once I walk through the park gates.

User

Mistreated by a ranger
This morning I was fined by a ranger for being at the wrong gate with my motorcycle. What is really shocking and upsetting is that I was lost and looking for a way out. You claim to treat others with respect in your Charter but asking for help by a ranger standing at a gate does not give a message of helping people using your parklands but of just a way to generate money by making infringements. The ranger did not introduce himself nor give his name or show his ID.

I hope this is not how you treat all people who are simply finding their way around the park.

One of the best parks in Australia for sure! Very well maintained, suitable for walkers, bike riders, horse riders etc A+

User

An awesome park with lots of activities. You can ride a bike, a scooter, run, walk, watch birds, feed birds (if you feel like committing crime), bbq - they have free facilities, walk around lakes, do a little bush walk, they also have events sometimes. A great place! Can be tricky to find parking if there is an event.

User

Without a doubt one of the best parks in Sydney. There's enough space to feel out of the city, and not on top of a picnicking neighbour in the park. The park has playing fields, lakes, swamps, horse jumping grounds and a track, manicured gardens and completely unkept areas. All in, and surrounding a 4km ring road for cars, and one for the human traffic of walkers and joggers. The parkland cafe is not too badly priced for an Eastern suburbs hot spot, and the coffee is good.

User

Lots to do from your weekend exercise to a weekend wedding.

User

Dog friendly! Love the outer ring, 7km of offleash goodness for our furry friends :)

User

Nice and big park, good for cycling, running and kicking a ball!

User

Can't say anything bad about this park. Excellent, well groomed park area. Areas for leash free dogs, horse. Bike tracks for adults and kids alike. Areas for events. Cafe with parking. Even toilet facilities are common, large, clean and well designed.
