Best coffee ever! Friendly service!

Giving a bonus star because the waitress' are friendly and basically save this place from being a complete disaster. The chef there is an arrogant prick who tries to tell you mayonnaise is aioli sauce. He also cant cook... Every time you get bacon or sausages they are literally the same texture as a dry biscuit. Numerous times before I stopped going there I made it quite obvious I was unhappy with how he burnt everything and nothing ever changed. One employee is literally destroying your business. You would be better off going and poaching a 16 yr old kid from Hungry Jack's.

Just ordered a couple of meals to be delivered. A veal schnitzel, Crumbed Fish and a small Prawn Cutlets. Whatever they crumbed the veal with made the entire thing inedible. Literally the first time in my life I haven't finished this kind of dish. The Carrots weren't cooked and the Cauliflower was brown? The fish was chewy? What even? The only thing that was passable were the prawn cutlets, but that's only because I COULD eat them, not that they were good. Never ordering from here again.

Everything was shocking. Got a chicken sandwich and the chicken was hard as Steel and tasted like it was a week old and had been lying out in the sun. Their service was below average and all the other dishes lacked flavour and presentation.

Pasta tasted like canned spaghetti, over cooked and said kalamata olives but they were green olives. I had the seafood basket and it was by far the worst one I've ever had.

Central cafe used to be a bustling place at any meal time. The meals were huge and great quality. I'm assuming it's changed hands. I went for breakfast with a friend and initially I was a little surprised that there was no other patrons. Even before ordering the 3 waitresses looked bored and disinterested and gave the death stare when we entered. After receiving my breakfast I now know why the place was empty. The 3 waitresses were so busy engaged in conversation that twice I had to get up to attract their attention. My chai latte tasted like hot milk with sugar and a bit of cinnamon waved over the top of the cup. My friends coffee was burnt, bitter and undrinkable. I ordered big breakfast with poached eggs, these were so undercooked that the whites were still clear (completely raw) after pointing this out to the bored waitress who I had to get up go and get and ask to come to the table, she initially argued that they looked fine to her but after my protest that it was raw and inedible with an eye roll she went to discuss it with the cook (I can't say chef) they did offer to make me more but when these came out they were rock hard blobs and inedible. The once huge meals that I'm used to seem to be no longer. My big breakfast consisted of a half of a roma tomato, 2 uncooked eggs, 2 undercooked rashers of bacon 1 piece of cold toast and the rest of the plate covered in chips. My friends omelette was edible as he was hungry but flavorless and nothing to write home about or worth returning for. Such a shame, central cafe has, or had an almost Australia wide reputation. I'm not sure what's happened but they certainly seem to be resting on the laurels of a reputation now gone. Don't waste your time or money here. Queanbeyan has much better places and more choices now. I highly recommend the little Italian place next door to walshes hotel. Open 7 nights cheap, great food, great service and great atmosphere and all the pubs do a good meal now too.

Shouldn't even get 1 star.Worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered Fettuccine Boscaiola and was served Spaghetti with a tasteless sauce missing ingredients. The service and wait for the disgusting food was not good either. Do not waste your money go else where.

Gave 1 star just so I could give my review. Very disappointed. Chef doesn't understand what medium rare is. Didn't get vegetables with my mixed grill. Chips and potato are considered 2 different vegetables. They should take the bruschetta off the menu. And why were the chips, potato, carrots and cauliflower all the same tinge of yellow.

Generous servings of pancake. The egg benedict with smoked salmon is pretty decent. Family friendly.

Service very slow. Witnessed one person nearly killed by a raw chicken schnitzel. And...... Still waiting!!

It isn't the same as it used to be and I think that the meals could be a fraction smaller it just feels wasteful. Lovely and friendly environment though.

Disgusting experience from the moment we walked in we were not greeted apart from with death stares. When waitress finally came to take our order we were still not greeted but bluntly asked 'are you ready to order yet!' While waiting for our food the two waitresses stood behind the counter talking to each other while rudely glaring at customers. When our food finally came out there were missing components and when asked where they were was told we were given something else instead because the order was taken incorrectly and was not offered to rectify. Our steak was supposed to be medium and came out well over done and grey we informed the waitress and she went and told the chef then returned and told us 'the ticket said it was cooked medium' (again very bluntly) we then proceeded to cut the steak and show her then she had to be asked to have it cooked again when it returned it was just medium and tasted like what I can only describe as grey. Salmon was very underdone but burnt on the out side. Chicken Parma was very below average. When we paid we told them we won't be returning and the girl just laughed and couldn't care less as to what they had done or how they could be improved. Very disappointing and a waste of money and time won't be returning ever again.
