I am a country girl - a "Drover's Brat" to use my Dad's nickname for me - I love the night sky and love to share its wonders and stories - with anyone who will listen! I have been studying with University of Southern Qld for my PhD but have been in love with the sky all my life. I have been lucky enough to work at Australia's top observatories and to be the discoverer of 2 comets.

So? What can you see? Daytime - the Sun - our nearest star - You can see prominences and sunspots if there are any and a constantly changing surface.

Of an evening if it is up enjoy magnificent views of the Moon and planets such as Venus, Mars Jupiter or Saturn. Galaxies, Nebula, coloured stars, star clusters, globular clusters, and double stars. Occasional satellites and 'shooting stars' (meteors).

Learn how to find south using the Southern Cross and hear stories about the constellations and dark patches.
