Throw back to when Ben Purcell and I hit the stage to raise funds for the Cancer Council at the annual Stars of Bathurst Dance for Cancer event in May, 2018.
This is my first ever highland choreography performed outside a dance studio (or my loungeroom) and it was choreographed for a non dancer!
I am so proud to have been a part of this event to create such an entertaining piece. Learning highland from scratch isn't easy but it's certainly not as hard as you think.

This week at MHDA:
We learnt the basic positions of the feet and the arm positions. We even started on our Shedding movement (what you see in the video below). This movement is used in many highland dances and here we are working towards our first step of the Highland Fling!
Let's see if we can add the hop next week!

What we got up to today in our first class:
Justin hasn't danced since 2003, this excludes the dance floor at the local pub 😂 He picked up the first step of the fling so easily and I'm very proud of him! Let's see if we can add the arms next week (and tidy up the feet!!)
