FANTASTIC!!!! Awesome news that $110,000 was raised at last night's NRCF Fundraiser at Brunswick Picture House.
The Northern Rivers Community Foundation helps those in need by pooling donations into a trust and then investing the money. The profits from that investment are then donated to local charities and community organisations.

Screenworks member and local filmmaker Darius Devas (Being Films) is holding a fundraiser screening for his new documentary series HeadOn, that examines personal stories of diverse young Australians suffering from mental ill health. The series is driven by Darius’ desire to understand the loss of his friend to suicide.
For the Screening, Darius will be previewing for the first time his documentary, Spirit Walker - Clinton's Walk For Justice. The film tracks the last stage o...f young indigenous man Clinton Pryor’s 11-month protest walk from Perth to Canberra in the name of justice for his people and the incredibly disrespectful reception he received from Prime Minister Turnbull. The event will also screen the teaser for HeadOn as well as a couple of special additional short films.
Darius successfully funded Spirit Walker through the Documentary Australia platform and is planning a similar path for HeadOn. The event is on Thursday September 6, 6pm at the Pighouse Flicks with a Q&A and a free beer for guests after the screening thanks to Byron Bay Brewery. Tickets $15/12.50 cash only. There is an ATM at the Brewery.
