The Blue Fox

I very much agree with a lot of the locals that i have asked about their experiences at the Blue Fox. They all agreed on the same issues, they are as i found it service was extremely slow, they forgot meals and then when they did deliver them they were incorrect, it took multiple requests for even a bottle of water to be delivered to the table some 30 minutes later, let alone the incorrect drinks that were first delivered upon our initial orders. This is not a restaurant that would get my recommendation, the staff are slow and extremely untrained in restaurant etiquette, the atmosphere is cold and unviting and the dead animal skulls on the walls and sitting around the dining area's are a disgrace. There is no warmth about this restaurant at all, it is cold noisy and the meals were less than average. Be warned that if you want to take a celebration cake of any kind you will be charged $2 per person to have it reguardless to the number of people in your party. I do realise that desserts are not always ordered if a cake is at the party however that is not always the case. The extra charge on your bill is a shock when you are not expecting it. After reviewing their website i cannot find anywhere that it states that you will be charged a price per guest to have a celebration cake at your function. It would be a good idea if staff would convey this policy to you upon entering the restaurant with the cake, instead of being less than acurate with their patrons at the end of the evening when they ask about this charge, and not knowing who booked on line or buy phone, as these are not facts that you can read on their website. These experiences would not have tainted our evening as much as it did if the service was actually up to the standard that they think they are offering.

We had dinner at the blue fox a few days ago and I can't believe we hadn't found it sooner! Easily the best restaurant in lithgow. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue has a very nice feel. Very fast service and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!

What a find, Roast Lamb with all the trimmings on a cold Sunday night. Lovely host amd staff too. Best drop in if your in Lithgow.

Food was amazing, service really lovely. Staff friendly and laid back. Nice music. We had bbq ribs with jacket potatoes, green beans with garlic butter, rocket and parmesan salad and slow cooked lamb shoulder. All delicious, it was like a feast! To top it off they had $10 cocktails! We had just come off a long drive with hours to go and stopping here was the best decision!
