Reviews

User

A historic and very reasonably priced hotel. Recommended as the rooms were much bigger than I anticipated. The bar also had a great selection of beers and wines. I will return!

I attended a small private event there and it was great. Amazing service, quality and care from the the staff. Great location and beautiful room.

User

Attended a social event (The K-Town Sound), venue was wonderful. Friendly staff, prime location, lovely ambience.

User

Beautiful old building & gardens. Always drop into Champagne Charlie's for a drink when I'm in Katoomba either by the fire or on the balcony. Good for lunch & dinner & don't forget to check out their bottle shop & deli around the back that had many local wines, beers, ciders & food.

User

Classic setting and elegant atmosphere. Good food and reliable service. Not for your typical post-hike lunch or dinner as implied dresscode is business casual. Bookings recommended for larger groups

The Carrington is like a bankrupt dowager. It clings to the last vestiges of its former grandeur, either unable or unwilling to change. It conflates expense with extravagance, as if charging $18.50 for a kids meal will attract a better class of clientele, and deter the riff-raff.

The Carrington wants desperately to be a place of grace and sophistication, when the actuality is creaking floors, cracked lamps and water damaged walls. Visit and enjoy the faded glory of the museum-like grounds, but actually spend your money elsewhere.

User

Great place for lunch. Nice and cosy, seats are mostly comfortable couches. They do great burgers and chips. Service is pretty efficient. The fireplace is nice on cold days. Prices are reasonable. A short walk from the town centre and you can park on the street nearby.

User

Great location. Good service although it would be nice if staff knew more about it's history. Rooms were slightly above average but the bathrooms were gorgeous. Beautiful grounds.

Before choosing the Carrington I was struggling to decide between this hotel and the Hydro Majestic but I am definitely glad of my decision. We went to the Hydro for dinner and I would say the Carrington had superior service, amenities, look and of course location.

User

Called in to sample Katoomba Brewing beers after the brewery recommend this was the closest place and grab a quick bite to eat. The kitchen was closed and was not serving quick was a disappointment and there were only two of the Katoomba Brewing beers available. The pub is in a good location close to the train station.

User

I've been here many times for late night drinks and love it. Unfortunately this time, there was an incredibly long wait just to get a drink. It was busy, but there was only one bar staff. I'll definitely come again, but at a less busy time.

User

Beautiful building with a great atmosphere. The lounge area is a great place for a drink. Good selection of cocktails

User

Walked in for a drink. Drinks were fine, atmosphere was wonderful. We sat in a lounge room past the bar. There was a fireplace and gentle lighting coming from chandeliers. High ceilings made it nice too.

User

Good food beer good people

User

Great food, fast service, reasonable prices, friendly staff

User

Great tap beer. Regular pub grub. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. Crumby decor.

User

Randomly stopped off on our way from Canberra to Wagga Wagga. Cute small town pub with really fresh food. Meal was delicious.

User

Great food. Can eat in or take away. Friendly staff and clean facilities.
