The George Tavern

Our family and friends recommended The George Tavern for a great venue and food. We found the venue was great but our experience not so good. The waitress on seating us at our table advised it was a new menu, but did not run us through the specials or advise of any dishes that were unavailable. She also overlooked advising we needed to order at the counter. When placing an order for five people, we were advised 3 dishes requested were unavailable so alternatives had to be selected. Always fun when standing in a queue. The meals supplied were well presented however disappointed that the chips served were the frozen crinkle chips variety. Worth noting that children dine free for meals ordered between 5 and 6 pm.

Food tonight was delicious. Busy because of a few parties but food still arrived in a reasonable time.

The service was good but they need to separate area for family's with children,
There was kids running around the restaurant, yelling over all customers to which u couldn't hear yourself speak.
The staff did not ask the parents to contain there children to remain seated.
It wasn't pleasant for all other customers who pay to dine there in relaxation.

Good pub grub but takes a while to come out. I was disappointed with their drinks, they don't serve real cointreau, it's triple sec in a cointreau bottle. Not what you need after a long day...

I had a decent dining experience here. Very clean and contemporary inside. I paid a little bit more for my food than I would have liked but it was still enjoyable.

Decent meals, decent service. Nothing outstanding, but good and simple.

Extensive range of dishes with all tastes and budgets catered for. We were originally seated on the deck area which was enclosed at the time due to inclement weather. Unfortunately, this amplified the noise and was a bit grating however the staff were fantastic and managed to find us a table inside quite quickly. Can't thank them enough for their efforts.
