Ace & Aro Collective Au

The Ace & Aro Collective AU is an organisation founded by asexual and aromantic community organisers from all around the country. There are many small local and state-wide organisations in Australia that are devoted to doing grassroots work for their local aro and ace communities, but these groups are often unable to access the resources that could help them to continue their impactful work, because they lack the infrastructure. By joining together as a larger group, the Ace & Aro Collective AU allows us to share our resources and build capacity so we can achieve our three primary objectives: Education, Research and Advocacy. AACAU is currently working through the process of becoming a registered charity and non-profit. We have legal advice and the journey has started. Aromantic and /or asexual individuals and organisations are both welcome to be a part of the collective. The local asexual /aromantic organisations included among us so far are: ACT AcesSouth Australian Rainbow Advocacy AllianceTasmanian Asexuals and AromanticsWe also have two representatives from NSW, and one from Victoria on our Board of Directors. We are still talking to groups in other states to see if they want to get involved – and anyone can be a part of what we do, whether their local group is officially "in" the collective or not. (AACAU is seeking allosexual aromantic candidates for our Board of Directors. Currently, we only have AroAce people – and so we are missing an important perspective.
