Afp Legacy Description

'Remembrance in Service'

Australian Federal Police Legacy (formerly known as the Chequered Ribbon Association) was set up to perpetuate the memory of AFP officers killed in the line of duty, and to raise funds for related charitable purposes.

AFP Legacy is governed by a team of dedicated AFP members who volunteer their time and represent a broad cross-section of the policing community and constitute a Board of Management. The AFP Legacy President is Detective Superintendent Shane McLennan.

AFP Legacy is committed to providing emotional and financial support for the widows, widowers and dependent children of deceased AFP officers and staff members.

The association is governed by a constitution which outlines where funds will be used.

As a not-for-profit organisation, AFP Legacy relies on the generosity of donors and sponsors, fundraising and the sale of merchandise.
