Background to APA

APA is the largest diverse African organisation in Australia offering various personal and professional development programs, scholarships, leadership training, mentoring and workplace experience programs to hundreds of people annually. Its’ membership comes from 25 African countries including Ghana, Uganda, Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Somali, South Africa, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mauritania, Gambia, Seychelles, Chad and Sudan.

Our mission is not to deliver a service to a group of people; our mission is to employ the platform of association and partnership to pursue and achieve continued positive professional relevance and impact among professionals of African origin on the Australian community at large. Our mission is to utilize the vehicle of our organization to achieve outcomes not just within our membership but for all Australia-resident professionals (both prospective and current) of African origin in general.
