Amazing news from India today, changing the lives of so many people! #loveislove

Here are some really worrying statistics about the experience of trans and gender diverse young people from the TransPathways report released in 2017: - 3 in 4 trans young people have experienced anxiety or depression. - 4 out of 5 trans young people have engaged in self harm - Almost 1 in 2 have attempted suicide
... Trans and gender diverse young people face enough marginalisation, stigma, discrimination, prejudice, abuse and violence without the supports they need being entirely misrepresented.
In National Child Protection Week we need to make sure that young people feel safe in themselves and we can do this by creating an environment where they can be their whole selves and be treated with the respect, dignity and celebration of their identity that we all deserve.
If you or someone you know are seeking support, remember the following contacts: Westlund Counselling (affordable counselling for LGBTIQ people and their allies): 0412 882 855 (during business hours) QLife Australia: 1800 184 527 (3pm - midnight 7 days a week) Lifeline: 13 11 14 (24/7)

Understanding the risks of #MyHealthRecord as they apply to your own life is a vital step when deciding about whether to have a My Health Record or not. Register for the webinar this Thursday to learn more http://www.webcasts.com.au/chf060918/

Find out more about shigellosis. https://bit.ly/2wmbiWl
The ACT and NSW have both seen an increase in multi-drug-resistant shigellosis cases acquired through male-to-male sexual contact which are resistant to all recommended oral antibiotics.
Reminder: sexual health checks are available across the ACT. The next session of M Clinic with Canberra Sexual Health Centre will take place on 3 September. Visit http://health.act.gov.au/our-…/canberra -sexual-health-centre to find out... more.
