Ajar Workshop Description

Ajar Workshop believes in smart, sustainable design. By carefully considering site conditions and user requirements, combining clever uses of space, materials and sustainability principles, Ajar can deliver elegant and efficient projects all within a budget. This doesn't apply just to new houses and renovations, but also to commercial developments, furniture, cartography, book layout. . in fact everything we do.

Ajar works in the fields of architecture (feasibility studies, drafting & design for new homes, extensions & renovations), cartography, design, fabrication and sustainability.

Jarrad Needham established Ajar Workshop in 2012 after gaining 8 years experience as an architect for firms in Canberra, Alice Springs and Melbourne, and 2 years as a cartographer for the publisher, Lonely Planet. Jarrad's most recent position was as a site architect on a large science education project at the ANU, Canberra, which involved working daily with the builders to deliver well-detailed and well-constructed buildings. Jarrad's craft and attention to detail also rear their heads in his welding and his other passions: bicycles, skiing & mountaineering.
