By providing extra learning opportunities, increasing engagement with the wider community and ensuring all students feel their voices are heard within the university. This teamed with our desire to increase the sense of community within the largest faculty on campus. SASS is all about bettering your educational environment and providing a whole lot of fun too!

According to Section 2 of the SASS Constitution, the objects of the Society are as follows:
* to represent all ANU Arts and Social Sciences students and to advocate
policies in the interests of the student body
* to enrich the academic and pedagogical experience of Arts and Social
Sciences students
* to facilitate the interaction of Arts and Social Sciences students with
each other in order to support and enhance the learning experience
* to foster a sense of pride and identity in the study of Arts and Social
Sciences
* to support, enable and assist, but not hinder, the activities and efforts of other societies which relate to Arts and Social Sciences
* to operate as a society in an ethical and equitable manner
