If you live off campus, are a born and bred Canberra, or want to explore the vast lands outside of Civic, come along to our first Woden lunch!
Being an off campus student can be an isolating, tough experience, especially for those who have commitments outside of university or live far away.
This event is for students like you: catch up and meet new people, eat nice food and stay around for chats. If you'd like to stay in touch, be sure to join the the ANU Off Campus Students.... Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/165386127 487895/
Au Lac is a Vietnamese, vegetarian and vegan-only restaurant 😃 It is located right next to Westfield Woden at Shop G90A Corinna Street, Phillip, ACT, 2606.
Accessibility: Westfield Woden offers complimentary wheelchairs. The wheelchairs are in high demand, and are therefore subject to availability. Please contact Concierge to book your mobility equipment in advance to guarantee availability. They also have disabled parking near the main entrances to the centre, on all levels of our carparks. They offer an extra hour of free parking to customers that hold a disability permit, meaning a total of 3 hours of free parking every visit.
Please register your disability permit at the concierge desk and a member will register you to receive the complimentary validation each time you shop. Once registered, simply take your parking ticket to the concierge desk during your 3 hour stay, and they will validate your ticket. At Westfield Woden, all the restrooms have a wheelchair accessible toilet. Check out their website for more information
Transport: You can catch a 300, 313, 314, 315, 316 or 343 from either Tuggeranong Interchange, Belconnen Interchange or Civic Interchange directly to Woden Interchange. From the Woden Bus Interchange, it should be a 10-minute walk to Au Lac.

With just one week to go until our event ANUSA Education Committee: The Anthropology of Universities, take a look at some of the ideas put forward by the speaker, Jodie (one of the brains behind the anthropology blog and podcast The Familiar Strange).
"It is an open “secret” amongst academics that universities exploit the labour of their academic staff, and more importantly, that they exploit the unpaid labour of their academic staff. There are arguments for and against this – doesn’t every vocation evoke unpaid labour? Hasn’t academia always been a passion project for those who embody it? Why are the academics of today so hung up on the 40-hour working week anyway?"
Join us next Wednesday at 5pm in the BKSS!

🗨️🌻🌿 ANU Counselling Centre Feedback 🗨️🌻🌿
The ANU Counselling Centre is one of the most important services on campus. The mental health social workers, psychologists and clinical psychologists at the Centre provide a vital and professional service to students. But sadly students often feel like they can’t access its services.
Fill out our short survey to let us know your perspective! ... Your feedback is anonymous, and you can choose not to answer any question. If you have any questions, contact Eleanor Kay on sa.president@anu.edu.au

ANU XSA and Science Society ANU presents Beyond the Scientific Margin - their next free speaking event!
When people look at you, they just see another university student, studying the same degree as hundreds of other people at the ANU - but what are you really an expert on? 🔮
Maybe you know more than anyone else alive about the history of anime. Maybe you can explain the entire field of study of dark matter in 15 minutes. While there are going to be a few special talks on sc...ience, you don't necessarily have to talk on a science subject!
Featuring prizes for best presentation, best dressed, and most bizarre (but well done!) topic, Beyond the Scientific Margin sees the most sexy, smart, fun and interesting people at the ANU talking for 15 minutes (or less!) about something they’re genuinely and honestly passionate about.
The Event will be held on 26th September 7pm, location to be revealed. Sign up to be a speaker today at https://goo.gl/forms/7TeecEjdqzIAYEm43
