HistoryThe school was opened in 1989 as a merger of the Fisher Primary School and the Waramanga Primary School. In 2008, the school participated in J-Rock, a school program for the performing acts. Arawong presented "A Day at the Circus" involving dance and tricks. Having been impressive at their performance at the Canberra Theatre, the school was invited to participate in the Junior Rock Eisteddfod at Sydney's Olympic Park. Student enrolmentIn 2013, the school had an enrolment of 433 students with 25 nationalities, including Philippines, India, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Portugal, Pakistan, Japan, China, East Timor, Thailand and Indonesia. Most of foreign students are new and most of them are son / daughter of a soldier undertaking a one-year program at the Defence Force College at nearby Stirling.
