Australasian Youth Cubesat Initiative

About Australasian Youth Cubesat Initiative

We're a team of 40 young students from around the globe on a mission to inspire the next generation by developing and launching Auahitūroa, our 1. 5U satellite, into orbit. We envisage a world where anything is possible, where inequality is a distant memory and where humanity can thrive and advance as a multi-planetary, space fairing society. Auahitūroa is a 1. 5U Cubesat designed to educate and inspire. Launched into orbit, Auahitūroa will downlink live video back to earth, along with data from three student-built MCU-based experiments, selected from an international competition launching in 2021. In addition, the satellite will provide students around the world with the ability to remotely run programs and collect data in real-time using an array of industry-leading sensors. In 2021, we are launching an array of regional outreach initiatives, which will involve the facilitation of workshops, delivered in high schools, webinars, and a range of other events. Our goal is to have programs and facilitation teams in Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, South East Asia and the United States by 2022.
