Australian Defence Force Academy Description

The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) is an Australian military training institution, combining study for an undergraduate degree from the University of New South Wales Canberra with military training for midshipmen and officer cadets of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force. ADFA is a learning branch of the Australian Defence College and sits within the group of the Vice Chief of the Defence Force.

The Australian Defence Force Academy consists of close to 1000 undergraduates from the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force who train for careers as the future junior leaders of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). ADFA also caters for 1500 postgraduate students, educates current junior and mid-level leaders through the Capability & Technology Management College, trains the ADF's chaplains through the Defence Force Chaplains College and Australia's Federation Guard who provide tri-service ceremonial support.
