Assistance with Diabetes Workforce Research Sought
On any given day up to 40% of consumers entering any healthcare service across Australia has diabetes; diabetes is everybody’s business. Professor Trisha Dunning, Dr Joan Ostaszkiewicz and Giuliana Murfet (PhD candidate) from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University, Melbourne, have embarked on a study to determine a consensus, competency-based approach to expanding the diabetes healthcare workforce. A Plain Lan...guage Statement which explains the study can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/2Dc4ikU
As part of the study, they are surveying expert diabetes health professionals to gain knowledge of the core competencies for diabetes healthcare professionals across the healthcare system. The project is focused on understanding the current knowledge, skills and attitudes needed and includes non-medical prescribing.
If you are interested in participating please contact Giuliana Murfet at gmurfet@deakin.edu.au or giuliana.murfet@ths.tas.gov.au to participate.
The project has ethics approval from Deakin University.
