Last night a group of local ACT Premier League players were invited to play against the Basketball Australia Opals in a scrimmage. The team was made up of players from Belconnen Ramblers Basketball Club, Canberra City Stallions Basketball Club and ANU Owls and was coached by Pierre BigBangs Johannessen.
“For us it was an opportunity for local basketball players to engage with elite athletes from around Australia,” said Pierre.
The team played as part of the Big Bang Ballers -... Australia family in a special moment that brought a number of Canberra ballers together putting the Opals through their paces.
“Before the game it was quite clear this wasn’t a normal scrimmage," said Pierre. "We were quite proud and honoured to play against the Opals."
Thanks to Basketball Australia for giving some of our local talent the opportunity of a lifetime!

Congratulations to the School Sport ACT U12 Girl's team who enjoyed a 59-50 win over Queensland today! The win has placed the girls into the top 3 with a guaranteed medal!

Basketball ACT was lucky enough to host a game between the Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence and University of Hawaii Men's Basketball last night!
It was great to see such a big crowd turn out for an exciting night of basketball. Final score 52-70.

Our new look FUTURES program IN-THE-MIX will be running at Southside venues for the very first time!
The 10 week program will focus on building fundamental skills, as well as team play aspects (3v3 and 5v5) and will get your game ready to be ‘IN-THE-MIX’ for this years ACT Rep Trials.

Congrats Basketball ACT for the summer comp for the under 12 girls. Not only did two teams not have a bye all season, you placed the top team that finished the season in a playoff final in Belconnen. Surely a Tuggeranong game would be more beneficial to the higher placed team. Then you placed two belconnen teams in a match at tuggeranong stadium???? Not sure what you are thinking there. Also all games have mostly been at 9am but the pointless playoffs where there are no trophies given to the players have been moved to 10am. My daughter will not be attending the finals along with a three other girls as the netball season starts this Saturday and the other girls went away overseas as they thought the season finished before easter. They didnt expect that the basketball season to drag on two weeks longer than normal. I think you need to rethink the roster for the next season.

A bit old but it's good enough to play on. If they don't clean the floor it's too slippery.

Our competition is severely lacking when it comes to having enough referees.
