Booderee National Park Description
Der Booderee-Nationalpark befindet sich im australischen Jervis-Bay-Territorium, an der südlichen Küste der Jervis-Bucht, etwa 200 Kilometer südlich von Sydney. Der früher Jervis Bay National Park genannte Nationalpark nimmt den größten Teil der Behwere-Halbinsel südlich der Jervis-Bucht sowie die ganze Bowen Island ein. Der heutige Name des Nationalparks stammt aus der Aborigine-Sprache Dhurga und bedeutet etwa "Bucht der Fülle" oder "Menge an Fisch". Tier- und PflanzenweltIm Park wurden bisher etwa 460 einheimische Pflanzenarten registriert. Hinzu kommen über 200 Vogel-, 180 Fisch-, über 30 Säugetierarten einschließlich etwa zehn Arten Fledermäuse, 37 Reptilien- und 17 Amphibienarten. Besonders bemerkenswerte Arten, die man im Park beobachten kann, sind der Weißbauchseeadler, der Australische Tölpel, die Australische Zwergscharbe und der Schwarzbrauenalbatros Außerdem hat man die Möglichkeit, vom Festland aus Buckelwale und Glattwale zu beobachten. Tourismus und SehenswürdigkeitenDer Booderee-Nationalpark ist bekannt für seine weißen Sandstrände und ist sehr beliebt bei Campern. Die Campingplätze des Parks sind oft Monate im Voraus ausgebucht. Im Park gibt es verschiedene Wanderwege, die den Besuchern die unterschiedlichen Landschaftstypen näher bringen. Eine Besonderheit des Booderee-Nationalparks ist, dass er auch einen botanischen Garten beinhaltet, die Booderee Botanic Gardens (früher Jervis Bay Botanic Gardens genannt). Dieser wurde 1951 als Dependance des Australischen Nationalen Botanischen Gartens in der Hauptstadt Canberra gegründet, um nicht winterfeste Pflanzen in einer frostfreien Umgebung unterzubringen. Seit dem Jahr 2000 ist er Teil des Nationalparks.

THEY SHOULD BE STOPPED FROM KILLING FOXES AND FERAL CATS BY THE HORROR OF BAITING!
THEY NEED TO BE TRAPPED AND RELOCATE FOXES AND REHAB FERAL CATS AND FIND THEM APPROPRIATE ACCOMODATION AFTER NEUTERING THEM AND CONTROL GROWTH IN THIS WAY , SAME WITH FOXES.
THERE IS A BAIT INDUSTRY DESTROYING INNOCENT INTRODUCED SPECIES. WE NEED TO CHANGE THIS CULTURE.
BOYCOTT THIS BOODEROO NATIONAL PARK‼️

What a beautiful place to visit. Full of natural beauty. We ran out of time to explore all the different tracks, beaches and other little scenic spots. Will have to visit again
We are fortunate enough to have a cabin in the RTBU HOLIDAY UNITS and we are down hete all the time. Its a wonderful place to stay and utilize the natural environment and the surrounding areas of the National Park
Great destination! Just love Booderee... very deserving of a tourism award. Also, great for seniors and concession card holders with a discount offered.
Disappear from the busier beaches of Jarvis Bay with Booderee's fantastic bush walks and unspoilt, natural coastline.
Beautiful bush and beaches. Clean and well maintained facilities. Helpful and friendly staff.
Great place for family outings during summer, plenty to do.
A beautiful area with many subtropical beaches and hikes through unspoilt nature.
Helpful visitors centre on the way in. Till booths only take cash but you can use card in the information centre. Heaps of lovely walks and beaches.
