OK as far as it looks are concerned but arrived early seeing off international guest, expecting to be able to eat before boarding at 9.00pm. What we did not expect is that 1. we had to unpack the suitcase to remove the 5cm BIG travel manicure scissors that you cannot take into the departure area as a dangerous whatever, 2. then none of the three eating places had any edible food, 3. then after a drink of what one can hardly call coffee, retrieved the scissors, 4. packed the suitcase and unpacked it at check--in: scissor in suitcase OK but lighter is only OK in the cabin luggage. 5. To top it all, going through the SAME security/personnel, the 72 year old lady from Europe was stopped for searching for explosives (like they have never seen the content of her suitcase). Security? We must have. How about some storage place if one just has to wait before leaving so do not have take though the luggage unnecessaily, and how about some decent food even at 9.pm?
Very open and beautiful. I love this airport so much! It has a great design and layout! It's definitely my favourite airport in the world! 😀👍
Agree with many reviewers. Airport is good but signage both from Canberra Ave and inside terminal is hopeless. There is no outside signage to indicate which side is Virgin or Qantas. Makes a difference when people have luggage, children or are elderly. Also pickup is difficult if you are not aware of the arrangements and where you have to walk to. Often I am asked by first visitors where they are meant to go and there are never any staff around to assist. But despite the many comments about signage nothing has changed so what is the point of thanking people for their comments then ignoring them.
Very spacious, light and clean. Great to now have a direct flight between Canberra and Wellington- thank you Singapore Airlines. My only grumble is the last of duty free shops. Only one tiny shop so don't leave your shopping till the last minute!
Today I took my 7 year old grandson to Canberra Airport in preparation for his unaccompanied flight home to Sydney, checking in was a pleasure, the staff at Qantas were both professional and caring, but that is where the professionalism ended. Recently I had a hip replacement so knew I would set security off so as I walked through I handed the female officer the card stating this. She did not bother to read the card but proceeded to make me go through security four times insisting I must have something in my pocket/had a belt on (which I didn't) maybe it was my WATCH. When I again showed her the card she insisted that it be put through the scanner. At this stage I was holding up other passengers from coming through security and frankly feeling extremely embarrassed in front of my grandson. I was then frisk ed. A male officer then approached me and told me it was routine practice. Again I informed the officers of my hip replacement, but it was only at this stage I was handed back my card and told I could go. I'm sure many passengers go through security in the the same predicament as I'm in, but the female officer showed no indication that she was trained to handle this situation. I am extremely disappointed that I was treated in such a manner.
Great airport. Clean. Good way to arrive in the capital.
Nice looking, well designed airport that is clean and tidy. Signage while driving in is slightly confusing for where you can pick up passengers - I had to walk a bit to meet my ride. I find it funny that the 1-star review has to do with not being able to get a beer.
Great facilities, tidy, well maintained terminal, manicured garden. Unobstructed route from any part of the Bush capital to be commented. Well done Snow family for their smart forward thinking.
Beautiful airport, modern, user friendly, free showers to refesh before or after flight, super clean and tidy, friendly staff everywhere. Fast and efficient, no mucking about or waiting for anything. A great example to be followed.

Eyes to the sky later today as the Royal Australian Air Force say goodbye to Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin. You'll see four F/A-18 A/B Hornets approach Canberra from the south-west and hold near Mt Stromlo. They will track over Parliament House in a box formation, along Kings Avenue to Blamey Square before heading over Mount Ainslie. @canberraplanespotters
