Chaki Chaki Japanese Restaurant & Bar

Food was quite delicious. Evening was spoilt by rude waiting staff who were unable to assist with explaining menu items. Alcohol very expensive and as we were celebrating a birthday we were not permitted to cut cake in restaurant. Would not go back.

Food was pretty delicious. If you can get there when they have the tonkatsu Ramen, grab it, it's super delicious. The rest of the food is good and tasty, although a little on the exy side. Service is a little ordinary too, at one point the waiter kind of wandered off while we were ordering. But overall a pretty good place to eat.

Lovely warm place for lunch or dinner. Pork broth is very very good. Kids love the BBQ chicken and rice.

Quality cuts of fish in the sashimi. Enjoyed the dumplings and potato croquettes. Nice atmosphere friendly staff.

Love this restaurant: The fish is fresh and good, best sashimi I have found in Canberra (after searching for more than a year in many "japonese" places). Have been there several times and I am always happy: the tacoyaki (battered octopus), the wasabi marinated octopus, mixed sushi, mixed sashimi, they were all great! And do yourself a favor and eat the oysters: they have a great balance between sauce/seasoning and flavor. Last time I went they had also sake in promotion which is pretty nice for a hot summer afternoon, chilled and not very sweet. I think the menu doesn't show the flavors that you will encounter. It is real and good quality food. Have and will come back again

While the food was pretty good, the service was terrible. One of our guests was left with no food, when asked, the staff kept blaming us or other diners. The manager does not speak English so all communication has to go through staff who were causing the issue. It appears that the cost of complaints is deducted from staff salaries. Also the waiters don't know the menu and cannot answer questions about the food.

Food was absolutely fantastic. Good value and great service. Highly recommend chaki chaki. A wonderful experience.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Japanese, anyway I didn't like this place and I have the impression it was overpriced.
