Chifley'S Bar And Grill

It was 3pm and I was tired of doing the inquisitive and excited touristy thing around the area. And I was hungry and very much in need of a chilled one. So I walked up along the historic national circuit, exchanged a few pleasantries with Chifley and Curtin near Kings Avenue (pic for reference) and headed to Chifley for a guzzle...
What a charm and elegance to the place. It was not pretentious at all, and I could just enjoy my time in it's cool interiors and fill my tummy and spirits up.
The staff was polite and courteous, no judgy looks or anything whatsoever, I even roamed the indoors at my will to get a feel of and read up on the history associated with the place and its people of a time gone by.
The food ( pork belly in plum sauce) was delicious to no end. Overall a very good decision to pop into Chifleys for the food and the atmosphere.

This is high end dining. Expect dinner for 2 to be above $100. Great ambience and service.

The food is quite nice but severely overpriced. I paid $38 for a piece of salmon and then had to pay $9 for a side. So basically a $47 meal in a pretty ordinary restaurant.

We totally enjoyed our meal here. The steaks were an excellent cut and cooked exactly how we requested. Definitely the best sit- down meal we had on our holiday in Canberra.

The meals themselves are not large, but there is a generous selection of sides available to chose from, and the staff are more than happy to have sides and entrees shared around the table.

Wonderful zoo. Small but built well.

Great food, very nice building and grounds, but we went on the night of a storm which restricted the menu and the service wasn't coping well

Was very disappointed with our dining experience last night. Service was non-existent. $38 for a small piece of grilled salmon - no other flavour was a rip-off. Noise from large function next to restaurant was not pleasant. Will definitely not be returning.

Had a dinner here with my friend as we stayed in Hotel Kurrajong and we don't like to move out far for dinner at night.

Reserved for 8.30pm as it was full in the evening of a Friday. So, note that please do your reservation early to get a table!

Called for the fish of the day and make a special request to let it come along with pasta. The chef went ahead and it was good. But the fish was kinda dry tho. No sauce was accompanied with it. The food took some time to be on the table too.

I believe for the price paid for, it could be better.

The staff was friendly and still energetic even after serving a long time. Really very professional!
