Military Superannuation and Benefits Scheme (MilitarySuper) was established under the Military Superannuation and Benefits Act 1991 (the MSB Act) and the Military Superannuation and Benefits Trust Deed, replacing the DFRDB Scheme as the superannuation scheme for all new members of the Australian Defence Force on 1 October 1991.

MilitarySuper is an employer-sponsored scheme. It is a hybrid defined contribution and benefit scheme that provides active members with an income when they leave the workforce. It also helps provide financial security to active members and their dependants through provision of invalidity and death cover.
