About Computing Assistance Support And Education

CASE is not a single project but rather a foundation for the creation of opportunities and a de-facto peak body in the area of Information and Communication Technologies. Our organisation operates as a conduit between the community sector and the information technology sector to ensure that cost effective, appropriate and best practice solutions are available to non-profit and community organisations. It all started in 1998 with a public letter at our first meeting with guest speaker Senator Kate Lundy at a Kingston, ACT coffee house. What followed was the formation of a steering committee and the incorporation of the association with the following goals: From the approved rulesThe objects of the Association shall include but not be limited to: * To disseminate information on all aspects of computers and computer networks to members, community organisations and the community at large. * To assist members in solving problems with computers and computer networks. * To arrange seminars, lectures, workshops and other educational activities on all aspects of computers and computer networks for members, community organisations and the community at large. * To carry out projects, or the provision of services, related to information technology, for the benefit of the members or the community. * To encourage research and educational projects on the use of computers and computer networks by community organisations. * To disseminate and encourage the dissemination of the results of such research and educational projects for the benefit of the community at large. * To promote such legislative or public policy changes as are necessary or desirable to better assist community organisations to benefit from information technology.
