My partner threatens our pet if I don't keep the house clean. That's their way of motivating me.
FALSE: It is never ok for your partner to threaten to or hurt your pet, regardless of what you have or haven't done.
Domestic, family and intimate partner violence is intentional and systematic and often increases in frequency and severity the longer the relationship goes on. This reference is just one element in a possible range of behaviours people who live with violence an...d controlling behaviours within their relationship can experience. In isolation, it might seem like nothing, but putting it together with other behaviours is not ok. if you are unsure about what you are experiencing, please contact our 24/7 crisis line on 02 6280 0900 so we can have a chat about what you are experiencing, how you feel about that and what supports we can put in place to help keep you safe.

My partner works hard all day, so it's understandable he gets mad and violent with me when he gets home.
