Gungahlin Medical Practice

Dr Syed is simply unprofessional and incompetent, he took phone calls during the appointments, once even speaking to his builder. Dismisses concern and doesn't seem to care much. Every time I was with him, he asked "what do you want me to do?" what a joke of a doctor ! Avoid him at any cost.

The only doctor I found helpful here was Dr. Ratish Das, quite good with kids.

I am appalled that I went in to get a referral for an X-ray as I had dropped a 20kg weight on my finger at a gym session the night before and due to it being bruised and swollen thought I'd ensure there was no break. Upon explaining this to the Dr I was met with the response 'It's a shame you didn't drop 20 kgs in weight rather than an actual weight on yourself.' I received further unsolicited advice to just ignore my body's hunger and eat as little as possible and drop that amount by 20% a week. Given he didn't even ask any lifestyle questions and this is the first time I have ever met this man I find it to e exceptionally dangerous advice. Will never return to that Dr and can only hope that after I speak to the practice manager he will be more tactful and kind in future, I'd hate to think how such an interaction could affect a vulnerable or insecure person

Despite the wait, the doctors are always very attentive to my needs.
I'm able to get an appointment most of the time even when they are busy.

The receptionists are so lovely here and the waiting times are the best I've ever encountered! I'm currently sitting at a different medical centre and regretting me decision because I've been waiting here now for nearly 2 hours. The maximum I've waited at the Gungahlin Medical Practise is 40 minutes and that is nothing compared to other waiting times I've had to experience. I've only had 2 different doctors here and they've always taken care of me and my health so I would definitely recommend this practise!

I will echo with other 5-star reviews. Doctors and staff have been extremely helpful to me every single time. I am visiting this surgery since the business is running with a variety of my issues. Staff, both the doctors and reception are simply fantastic and excellent. Always friendly, very helpful, exceptionally caring and understanding. All doctors in this surgery always take time to understand my health issues and addressed my needs appropriately rather than looking at their watch. That might cause some delay to maintain appointment schedule but that is for a good cause. Moreover, I have never come across any GP surgery especially in Canberra which does run on the dot schedule.

Booking can be made online, email confirmation with a calendar event for the smart phone. No requirement to call up during business hours to find appointment times which is a best feature for me.

I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who care about their own health and wellbeing.

Despite the practice being very very busy, and the staff, both doctors and reception, being under the pump, my health has always been considered a priority here. The doctors are caring, and the reception staff go above their means to accommodate most of the requests we have made.
They provide bulk billing services within work hours for everybody, which makes it really affordable and are always accepting new patients. I've been able to book for an appointment with them every time I needed to see a doctor without being robbed of every penny I have. I do not understand why people are upset about waiting times, I have witnessed on several occasions while I was there, people walking in with emergencies and them having to triage this emergency in. It works the same way everywhere you visit a doctor. I am happy to wait 20-30 minutes if it means I will get quality care in the end.
