Rented a property for 5 years with independent. What a bunch of useless, incompetent, unprofessional staff. Not only did we have water leaking in our hallway after heavy rains, which was reported with evidence (photos) for 3 years before anything was done, but they are now trying to sting us for our bond for repairs to the wall after the building managements trades investigated the leak. Oh. And now they're avoiding calls and emails.

If you own an investment property DO NOT have your property managed by these fools.

I am so so so so very disappointed in the poor customer service Independent has shown us since we started renting with them. The staff turn over is crazy high as we have been assigned 3 different PMs since June! Our emails regarding maintenance issues have been disregarded, not attended to and not passed on when staff have left. We have continuously tried contacting the PM for months to have these issues addressed, and we have either been ignored or told they will be followed up but nothing gets done about it.
I really wish I had done my research before renting with them because all the reviews I have read on here are all exactly what we are currently experiencing. I do not recommend renting with Independent, they are absolutely useless.

This agent company sucks, plz don't rent or buy any properties from them. They will not give u feedback on time even after a week, and give you wrong information which lead me live without internet for almost two months. They are also arrogant and lazy, I suggested the right number but the property manager Samuel insisted that he was right, which waste one month to deal with my internet provider.
Besides, they didn't fix the problem I told them one month ago about the landry. For most time, they can not be reached unless your payment doesn't get through.
Oh I forgot, the house is not 100% for people to live in. One of the toilets is not installed properly; the sewerage system is not completed and one of the bedrooms is quite stinky.
It is really really awful experience. I am sure that you want your custom be "independent" and don't bother you, this is the reason why you name your company!!
I would give them 0 star but I can not. Google plz give us the right to choose zero star.

I dealt with Luisa Solar earlier this year between Jan-May 2017 regarding my bond as I moved from the apartment that was with Independent Property. I moved out completely in the beginning of Feb 2017 with everything done correctly on my behalf and as asked. I like the apartment in pristine condition. As emailing was the only way communication was due as the phones were never answered, being told by Luisa herself over email that my bond would be back to me within the next 4 weeks as it was just lodged by her. Beginning of May came around after continuous emails to Luisa regarding my bond requesting where it was as I hadn’t received it and emails back from Luisa stated the bond was definitely lodged and that I had to contact the bond office as she didn’t have control over it anymore. Emails kept going and Luisa eventually stated that she never lodged the bond like she was meant to in the beginning and that I had to refill out a new amended bond form for it to be lodged again. Finally got my bond back after 3 months of nagging her week in and week out. Overall worst company to deal with in general and the customer service is poor. Luisa constantly lying over email which is silly as I’ve kept them all regarding the bond. Wouldn’t recommend renting with Independent Property Group.

Very bad renting experience!! Please avoid at all cost.. The agent is not responding to calls and they are not refunding our bond money even after handing over the the property on time to their satisfaction. Maintenance requests are never addressed. I really wonder how this organisation even functions and is able to secure projects for sale and rent. Totally surprises me... Again, consumers beware and avoid at all costs. Never again!!

we were tenants at one of the properties managed by independent property in Canberra , ACT for about 8 months. We have been on transferrable jobs and have never ever experienced such poor , terrible communications and service from a property management group. We also are owners of properties interstate and have never experienced such ordeal. Our bond money is now stuck with them and they do not bother return the same. we have been following up over emails , phone calls but to our unfortunate that none of our communications efforts have been responded to. We are facing a lot of problems financially as the bond money that is stuck is a substantial amount. Their communication problem is not only with their junior staff but also the managers and one ups. no body response to any form of communication. including the receptionists who are extremely rude and unworthy of the positions they hold in a corporate environment. You may have all policies in place but if no one follows them, then what is the point. They are not even aggressive in finding renters for the properties they manage. it has been a DISGUSTING EXPERINECE. I cant believe our money is in the hands of who I call THIEVES.

Zero customer service skills! Worst rental experience of my life. Will never be recommending Independent. I am not surprised that independent property have a rating of 1.5 stars and I can relate to all the other negative experiences people have had with this company. Very disappointing.

Staff have extremely poor communication skills, are unprofessional and rude. Twice, they have mistakenly taken my fortnightly rent out of my account in my 'off-week,' leaving me without any funds. Their accounts department is incompetent.
Their high-staff turnover speaks volumes about what kind of business they are running.
Landlords- if you wish to keep decent tenants, I would recommend you stay away from Independent.
