Local Press Cafe

Fantastic whole food cafe in the newly developed Kingston Foreshore. The choc fudge smoothie is excellent.

Creative and tasty options. Nice setting and atmosphere on the canal. Good people watching. I would return.

My favourite cafe! Great location, great food and great atmosphere. The carrot cake is the best I've ever tasted (and trust me I've tried a lot!).

Delicious and great quality food using local ingredients where possible. Can be very busy though (particularly for brunch and lunch on weekends) and they don't take bookings. Be prepared to wait a little for a table.

Had the chili scramble. Lack of freshness of ingredients and in the dish left it needing more, something, a lift? To many components on the plate though... made it a muddle of flavours that didn't all match or work together. The coffee was good on tbe plus side. But the service was dull.

Cool and funky..some meals are spot on and so is the coffee. But some other foods off the menu are a bit touch and go. Overall 4 for the coffee, atmosphere, service and breaky. 1 less star as some foods off the menu are that great!

Interesting menu items, but the vegan options are often made vegan simply by removing that which made the dish interesting in the first place. At a place like this with a focus on healthy food, I expect better vegan options. Also a bit overpriced. But food is good, I love that they use local produce, and the atmosphere is great. If they added better vegan items I would come a lot more often. The smoothies and coffee are also tasty.

Food, service and setting is second to none. Prices are a bit over the top but otherwise brilliant.

I am usually not a complainer... but when my friend and I visited Local Press Café, we received really poor service from disinterested staff. I honestly find it hard to remember the quality of the food because the service was so terrible. Felt like there was no real human connection. I've worked in hospitality before - I get it, but it adds so much to a customer's experience if you actually engage and are polite instead of acting like each and every customer is a waste of your time.

Later, when a waitress was clearing the table, I asked if she could leave the jar I bought my juice in, so that I could take it home. I was told no, because they usually wash and re-use (which is fine, and good for the environment - but if I could have bought it and taken it away if I didn't eat in, why couldn't I have kept it when I asked?).

Would be willing to go back if a friend was interested again with an open mind... but I really hope you guys have sorted out your staffing issues. You have a great location, good flow of customers and such great potential!

Great service and good food. Trendy place with a good crowd. Waited for 10 minutes but floor manager Gary was very helpful and friendly. Food was tasty and delicious.

Food here is amazing. Always fresh and something different. Presentation and flavour is quality. Great spot and atmosphere.
