- I have no problem with phone addiction! I'm quite fond of leaving it far away from me -
This weeks Sunday morning yoga teacher is Ebony Anderson from Wellness Empowerment Collective, a yogi who has been practicing for over 20 years. In respect to this weeks mantra we asked Ebony how long she could last without needing to use her phone.
“If I had the people I cared most about with me... months. I dislike the constant barrage of information”. Instead of starting her day wi...th a constant stream of notifications (like we all often do) Ebony starts off everyday by writing 10 things on her gratitude list and meditating, before she even thinks about picking up her phone.
The challenge of reaching for your notebook rather than your phone this week may be a good one…
Leave your phone at home and join Ebony on the mat this Sunday.

- Gosh it’s crazy to think how attached we have become to our phones as a society! -
This week our mantra instore is “put your phone down, the world’s not on hold”. After teaching her beautiful class at Here. we were lucky enough to chat to Eve. on phones, her relationship with her own and how she makes time to be completely present - away from the endless stream of notifications and nudges.
She explained that “Yoga is [her] time to disconnect with the outside world and look... inward. Yoga is a moving meditation for [her] and time on the mat really helps [her] to reconnect with [herself] away from [her] phone”
We certainly agree with Eve and are grateful for the physical and mental cleanse that yoga can offer. Through practice we can learn to notice and acknowledge things within ourselves and our surroundings that we may miss when buried in the virtual.

- Treat goals like coconuts. Hit them hard, crack them open. Celebrate -
This was our empowering mantra for the week. It was time to smash our sweaty goals so we joined Leyla at F45 Canberra City who put us through our paces. She also shared with us a bit about how goals play apart in her work and life.
““Here we believe that the mind is the most important part of achieving any fitness goal. Mental change always comes before physical change.
... My time at F45 has helped me grow as an individual by achieving my fitness goals and being part of a community. Investing in the clients is important to me as I share their success and failures. We’re in it together."

- Please and thank you open more doors than money and looks. Building a community through connection -
Recently we attended a fantastic, sweaty bikram yoga class and got to ask what our weekly mantra meant to our community at Bikram Yoga.
"Your mantra to me expresses the importance of gratitude. We are so blessed in Canberra to have so many opportunities to practice yoga and seek a deeper connection to our true selves. At Bikram Yoga Canberra we aim to not only offer a space where students can seek a deeper connection to themselves but also share their journey with love and support from others in our community. "

- At its core yoga is about connecting to our heart centre. From here we show up as our best selves and spread good vibes to those around us. It’s crazy how powerful we are when we’re genuinely connected -
Beautiful words from our very own educator in store and our Sunday morning yoga teacher Andrew Anthony. Please join us on the mat this Sunday morning to connect to yourself and set up those good vibes for the week ahead.

- lululemon Canberra Run Club -
It was 12 weeks of training, in the cold -6 degree mornings watching the sunrise and forcing ourselves out of bed. But we made it to the finish line! Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported us, it was great to meet amazing like-minded people and sweat it out together.
A huge congratulations goes to our members who smashed the 10km and 5km at the Canberra Times Fun Run! With a few PBs thrown in there too, we are so proud of you.
... Watch this space for what is coming up next, there will be no run club this thursday but we have something in store for you.

“Please and thank you open more doors than money and looks. Building a community through connection”
This was our manifesto for the week, and we built some new connections by hitting up CrossFit Threeflow.
We were fortunate enough to have coach Craig take us, and care for us across all levels of experience. It was amazing to walk into CrossFit Threeflow and feel welcomed, excited and safe! We asked Craig how and why this community is so strong.
... "Community is pretty much what CrossFit is about when you look beyond the physical benefits of what we do. Without community you have a soulless environment which fails to inspire you to turn up, train with likeminded people and create a healthier lifestyle."

- Connect and sweat (a lot of sweat) -
These are two of the most important things we do and today we had the absolute pleasure of being taken through an awesome sweat session by Mat Turner and Jenna-Jane Williams.
Pushing ourselves first and then working together as a team to smash the end of session. We are so privileged to have such an incredible bunch of people in our community and to connect them to make even bigger and better things!
... Thanks again to everyone who came. We cant wait to see you all in store or somewhere sweaty soon!

- I often just take time to think and smile about all that I have. I’m always grateful -
We were lucky enough to chat to this weeks Sunday morning yoga teacher, Mel Collings, on thankfulness and appreciating her life. Mel turned to practice when the physicality of yoga complemented her obsession with rock climbing. “It wasn’t long before yoga turned into a new obsession” and she hasn’t stopped being grateful for it since.
In relation to this weeks mantra “Please and thank yo...u open more doors than money and looks. Building a community through connection” we asked Mel what she believes is the best way to build new connections:
- Always keeping it real - Being open and humble - Showing a willingness to learn and grow from everyone and anyone
In essence; never ignoring an opportunity to connect.
Join Mel on the mat this Sunday morning and say thank you to yourself for another week kicking goals and connecting with the world around you.

Yoga can mean many things to many people. To some - it is a release, a chance to be completely uninhibited. To others - it is precise, a collection of checkups with your mind, body, and soul. To you - it may be something else entirely.
Yoga is a chance to not take yourself too seriously. Laugh, reflect, and release yourself into your own unique form of practice.
Join us and Noo Gray on the mat this Sunday and find your personal flow.

- Vulnerability makes a leader great -
This has been our manifesto for the last week and is also what the amazing leader, Eliza, continually shows us, her team and community.
“When I first started out in the F45 business, I had no idea what I was doing. There was a very real possibility that we would go bankrupt and our dream would fail. I would say I was very vulnerable when we opened the studio, because it was the first time I’d ever managed staff or been the decision-mak...er for a business and I was exposed to the possibility of people taking advantage of my position and the possibility of failure.
I’m a very honest person and I have trusted in my employees and members (who have turned out to be an absolutely amazing team of people). I’m only human and I think showing my vulnerability and putting everything on the table is one of the reasons we have succeeded. I put my heart and soul into the business and I think that shows.
It’s made our members and staff a stronger team for seeing that and working on weaknesses as a team. We’re all only human and being vulnerable as a leader is scary when all eyes are on you, but it makes you a stronger person in the long run.”

- I think it’s always important that in every leadership role you show and encourage vulnerability. By doing so, you remind others that you are a human with emotions and they should show them too! -
Thoughtful and wise words from this weeks Sunday morning yoga teacher Nikita Moorcroft. We are incredibly excited to have this ex lululemon educator back on floor to teach some gentle vinyasa flow.
In fitting with this weeks mantra “vulnerability makes a great leader” we asked Ni...ki who her greatest mentors have been:
“I have so many mentors in my life. Two very prominent ones are Krishan Jogia and Olivia Bartlett-Marques. They taught me that leadership can be done in a really caring way - that means no matter what those around you feel comfortable coming to you when they have issues.”
Join Niki on the mat this Sunday morning.

Canberra, meet Felicity. Her name might sound familiar as she has represented our country in swimming for many years, now she is opening up her own gym. We were lucky enough to chat to her about her journey so far and the amazing plans she has for the future!
Coffee or wine?
"Both please"
... Ocean swim or mountain hike?
"Ocean swim for sure 🏊‍♀️🌊"
What is your favourite way to sweat?
"Circuit training or WOD with a group of friends"
What is your fitness journey?
"I started swimming when I was 12, after playing lots of different sports at school, I guess swimming chose me. I fell in love with the sport, swimming just came naturally to me and decided to put everything into it. Swimming was my fitness and job for the next 14 years. I made my first AUS team when I was 15 years of age and never missed a team for the next 10 years."
What is your favourite swimming moment?
"My favorite swimming moment was when I broke my first World Record!! Something I was never sure I could do, but that moment I touched the wall and saw WR next to my name and World Champion, I was so ecstatic!!"
Why did you want to start your own gym?
"Purely because I know what exercise can do for your physical and mental health. I wanted to provide a service for all fitness levels and abilities to feel included and part of something greater than just a gym.
I offer a range of classes, Bootcamp, functional training using Queenax Rig where you will do a circuit style workout around it, including swinging, jumping, balancing and climbing as the main movements. Mums and bubs, personal training sessions and boxing are also part of our weekly sessions on offer coached by our amazing 2 star boxing coach Bess Slater.
I have a launch weekend on 8&9 September so everyone can come and see the gym, meet me and my other coaches. We will have two free sessions on both days so everyone can experience what we have on offer."
What is your favourite quote?
"It is a simple one but one I have always used while I was swimming and when training was really tough! “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade” 🍋 There is always something positive from a negative experience or moment in your life."

20 years ago, we put our thoughts, beliefs, and some conversation-starters into a manifesto. This would go on to become an iconic piece of who we are. In celebration of turning 20 we’ve given it a refresh—we’ve evolved over 20 years, and it’s only right that our manifesto does too. Explore it, reflect on it, challenge it. Use it to consider what motivates and moves you. What opens your eyes, your heart, your mind? 20 Years of #lululemon

- What did baby corn say to mama corn? Where's popcorn? -
Happy Fathers day to all the father figures out there! Today we are celebrating the newest father in our lululemon family, Deniz, the father of beautiful baby Mavi with our store manager Olivia. He shared with us his first moments of becoming a father.
"The moment Mavi was born the doctor handed him straight to Olivia. When he opened his eyes for the first time Mavi stared so intensely at Olivia, and then across at me.... And then back to Olivia, and back to me. Mavi was so alert- it was such a special moment that I will never forget.
I want Mavi to grow up appreciating his heritage and where his came from. Coming from parents with both Portuguese and Turkish backgrounds, it is important to me that Mavi is connected with these cultures. I will also teach him to speak Turkish."
Liv also shared how she has seen Deniz become a father.
"Deniz by his own admission is a workaholic, so watching Deniz being distracted by Mavi and take hours out of his day and night to cuddle, and hold, adore, and just be with Mavi has been very special to watch. It’s incredible to see a grown man bond so instantly and deeply with his son.
Deniz and I are both very driven and independant people, and I look forward to the natural shift our lives will take to make space to share it with Mavi."
