Some great trails for MTB, some great tough climbs and pretty good descents.

Black cockatoos , gullys , roots , nice clockwise loop suitable for a 10 yo

One of the best MTB parks in the district. Fast, flowing tracks and a variety of forest types to navigate.

A few good Mtb trails, can be really muddy after rain.

Mount Majura Nature Reserve is immediately to the north of Mount Ainslie and a number of trails link the two reserves. Mount Ainslie is a popular tourist destination, since you can drive to the top and get sweeping views over the city -- with the airport, Lake Burley Griffin, Parliament, the War Memorial Museum and Civic in the foreground, and most of the rest of Canberra and the Brindabella mountains visible in the distance. Mount Majura is slightly higher than Mount Ainslie, but the views are more restricted due to dense tree cover. The lower east side of Mount Majura includes a pine plantation ("Majura Pines") which is popular with mountain-bikers -- with many challenging trails weaving through the tall pine trees. An extensive network of bushwalking and fire trails cover the entire reserve. More information about Mount Majura and its natural environment is available on the Friends of Mount Majura website.

I usually stick to climbing Mt Ainslie but this walk is fairly nice too. Worth it if you get bored of climbing Mt Ainslie.

Better than stromlo which means it is awesome

Lovely reserve so close to the city. Great for bushwalking and mountain biking. You're sure to see a kangaroo.
