Just the best! Top quality products, staff who know their stuff because they actually use it "in the wild", great store. You can't do better!

User

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, found stuff and gave me a discount happily. They make long lasting robust and we'll designed camping gear. Always fun when they have a sale.... Many many customers.

User

Awesome store and great customer service. Thanks team.

User

Great service. Had to try on heaps of different sizes of climbing shoes before finding the right one and it was no problem. They even had a small climbing wall to try it on!

User

Have just had a warrantee issue with Mont. It was resolved in a very fair and professional way. This is a firm you can confidently deal with. Refreshing!

Good range of outdoor gear. Wait for a sale if possible.

User

Good Aussie company and stock good quality products, both their own and others. The best range of climbing gear in Canberra.

User

Fantastic gear, and very knowledgeable staff. Why by gear from overseas when quality like this is available locally. I have known and used their gear for over 30 years and it is as good today as it was "in the olden days" ... as my children tell me.

User

It's always a really memorable experience visiting this store. The staff are knowledgable, and even during busy periods will go out of their way to help you out with any requests, information, shoe fittings etc. I currently only really shop for climbing gear, but am looking forward to the day I need a new sleeping bag or camping gear - will definitely be getting it from here! Thanks Mont Adventure.

User

Best range and fantastic factory sales. Unbeatable in Canberra.

User

Cannot say enough about the quality of the products, i am so happy with my purchases no other brand comes close. Will from the helpline was so knowledgeable and went way beyond to help. i only wish all there products were available in Sydney. all those stores in Kent st what a waste we just need one good Mont store

User

Bought a down jumper at the Mont 24 and I must say it is one of the best purchases for a piece of clothing I've ever made. I brought it back to my campsite and all the other boys were amazed by the quality and warmth and bought 1 each. Top quality product at a good price.

User

Excellent customer service, I need gear or advice, it comes with many years experience

"A quick trip up to Tassie’s Freycinet Peninsula last week. I camped at the White Wall camping area and spent a quiet night in my Moondance II tent (quiet apart from the tree that succumbed to gravity with a crash at about 2am ). I am always very careful where I pitch my tent and I had picked a spot out of range of any falling trees. Mont tents are good, but even a Mont wouldn’t stop a falling tree :)
Up at 5am and down to Boulder Beach for the sunrise. It was worth the eff...ort with some dramatic colour to record.
I walked out past Wineglass Bay during the day to do a recce on a possible future photo location but lost the urge after pushing through a lot of thick scrub. As I worked my way back to the track my GPS showed 60 metres to go....10 minutes later I stepped onto the track. It isn’t only the southwest that has scrub! It was a pleasant walk anyway on a deserted track back towards Wineglass Bay. Winter in Tassie is brilliant. Hardly anyone around but the weather (on the East Coast at least) is often perfect.
Sunset saw me back in Coles Bay at a favourite photogenic location. Second decent image for the day and I was happy to hop back into my car and head for home. Short but sweet.
Thanks to Mont for the Moondance II tent, Helium 550XL sleeping bag, Slinx Powerstretch Polartec top and Mojo shorts and pants."

Thanks to Thor Bloomfield for sharing his story and photos, and for showing that a full life is possible after a transplant!
"From after the operation to forging a great appreciation for the outdoors. Embracing the challenge in nature...
As my body strengthens and gets fitter I will be able to take on bigger challenges and inspire other patients and show them what life after a transplant can be like...
... I have a bought Zodiac Mont sleeping bag from Bogong Equipment Store in Melbourne which has been great and used it all the way up to and in to winter. I camped in the Snow with it. It maxed out with me at -3 so I went back to Bogong and got advice on upgrading to a full winter kit. I was upgraded to a Mont Telemark sleeping bag and the Mont Epoch tent. I’ve spent the first night in the tent at Mt Hotham getting completely snowed in. The wind blew a gale. The tent stood still and didn’t move. It was up to expectations and bomb proof. The sleeping bag was as warm as toast. Previously in snow with the Zodiac I had 4 layers of clothes on. In the Telemark I slept in just thermals. And had the best nights sleep. I want to buy the Mont men’s down jacket now for warmth. I am 100% a supporter of Mont as the quality has hit above my expectations. Thank you to Bogong Shop for pointing me in the right direction. Thank you to the team at Mont. I have many great photos of my trips. After receiving a double lung transplant in December 2017 only 7 months ago. I was unable to breath by myself. I have pushed myself to exercise as much as possible. I’ve now been able to do the adventures I’ve dreamed about. I’ve climbed, camped, hiked, kayaked, skied, snowboarded, cross country skied, snow shoed, and it’s thanks to having the right equipment to do this. I look forward to doing more and seeing more."

“After a substantial hiatus from the trails of Tassie I was starting to dream of the divine hiking down there. Plus, nothing softens the memory of those lung busting climbs and infamous Button Grass swamps like sitting on the mainland watching your trusty Mont Backcountry pack (now 18 years old) gather dust in the shed. In order to scratch the itch, a trio of us planned to have a crack at the glorious Western Arthur traverse in South West Tasmania."

"I walked into the Walls of Jerusalem yesterday after an aborted attempt earlier in the week (the forecast changed to a severe weather warning with Mt Wellington, same altitude, getting high winds with a maximum of 77 knots).
Plenty of soft fresh snow (read, painful, even with snowshoes) but I got a couple of images of the Epoch in its element. It worked great, lots of nice little improvements I didn’t notice in the tent I took to Antarctica. Mildly fresh at -3°C but pretty w...arm inside."

"The Moondance 2 is the ultimate guides tent. Gear port one side, kitchen the other. Have had a couple of windy nights around Etheridge Ridge but very comfy in the Moondance. It has fantastic ventilation and effective zippered openings. Basically it is my house for the next 5 weeks."

A quick trip to Tasmania’s fabulous Tarkine region.
This is a region I haven’t frequented enough, probably because it’s a 5 hour drive from home. My first visit was in 2004 when I was part of a collaboration of photographers that gathered to provide material for the book “Tarkine”.
Since then I have been back a few times but more visits are required.

"Home Sweet Home
I purchased the bivvy to use while bikepacking and solo hiking almost a year ago. It’s a great shelter that I’ve used from the mountains around the ACT to the coast, and in all weather.
Sure there are lighter more compact options out there, but this is a robust, spacious and fully waterproof bivvy, built for Australian conditions. Like most shelters, I do get some slight condensation depending on weather conditions, but that’s to be expected and is usually ea...sily managed by opening up the bag further, or picking a better camp spot.
Overall, it’s a well made, simple and effective shelter that I’m confident will last."

The recipe for a great day in the backcountry? Good weather, good friends and the joy of seeing a first-timer find their ski legs, especially when the skis those legs are attached to are classic pattern based skinnies!
Mont staff members Milly, Owen, Sonia and David, along with their friend Adrian, skied out from the top of Thredbo towards Kosciuszko and the famous Kosciusko Cornice which already had a good 1m of overhang. After dropping off the side of side of Kosciusko into Rawson Pass, the band skinned up to the top of Etheridge for lunch.
Demo Voilé V6 and Kastle TX90 skis were borrowed from the Mont Shop Fyshwick and the crew were fitted in Mont Supersonic Jackets, Neon Down Vests, Power Dry Thermals and Julbo Eyewear Aerospace Goggles.

"Today I went for a walk in search of a tree. Now this tree is a very special Tasmanian Snowgum, eucalyptus coccifera. The Tasmanian Snowgum typically grows between 800 and 1300 metres in Tasmania’s alpine regions and can sometimes be found with quite unbelievable colours depending on the season and how much rain there has been.
I found this particular tree many years ago and photographed it a couple of times when it was a beautiful red colour, quite stunning.
Then, a couple ...of years ago, I went looking for it again, without success. I couldn’t find it! Despite 3 trips to locate it, it remained elusive.
But today, I returned to the location again, and after a good kilometre of precariously scrambling across a boulder field with slippery moss covered boulders ranging from football sized to small bus sized, I finally located it :) It was like finding an old friend. It’s colours were more muted this time but still undeniably beautiful.
The weather was drizzly, cold and a bit windy. Typical Tasmanian winter alpine weather. I was wearing my Odyssey Jacket, Power Stretch Pro Beanie, Slinx Zip Polo top and Mojo shorts with Power Dry thermal pants. Superb gear manufactured by Mont Adventure Equipment. Snug as a bug in a rug :)"

Although it pains me to do this I feel that the feedback is necessary.

I bought a pair of these Adv.Light Shorts for myself and my wife to hike Bogong. Unfortunately, after testing them out on a week of family car camping, I found these to be terribly uncomfortable as there is no backing to the front button and with the compression of the belt the button digs into my skin.

I can only assume that with the addition of a pack and added exertion it would become unbearable toward the end of a day’s hike.

Unless you intend to use these with layers tucked into your pant/shorts the button will push itself into your skin.

Other than that major floor, in my opinion, they would have been great.
