My family and I are long term customers and Niall and his team are honest mechanics who come from the old-school where customer service is paramount. They are not after a 'fast buck' like the horror stories of dealer-mandated servicing, and will explain things to you and give you all the options when it comes time to replacing parts. They are happy to go ahead and order stuff for you, or install what you bring. No dramas.

They overcharged me by mistake once (I never noticed at the time) and rang up a week later to let me know that they realised there had been a mistake when they were doing their accounts. I was given the option of refund on the spot, or credit to next account. Don't know about you, but that sort of honesty is very uncommon these days.

That's why I keep coming back.

My wife and I have been taking our vehicle to Niall for the last 20 years. We initially were introduced to Niall's business through Ogilvie's Automotive in Mitchell, in 1996. At that time my wife's VB Commodore was stolen, and the thieves trashed the automatic transmission. The policeman recommended that the car be towed to Ogilvie's as they had an excellent reputation for quality work at a fair price. We were so impressed with the service and the standard of work that we have stayed with the business ever since, and we have seen them move to the current location in Ballieu Close in Mitchell (around 2001), under the name Repco Mitchell Service Centre. We have found the work to be consistently of a high standard and a fair price. The only time we had an issue with a service/repair was with the Subaru Outback (yes, I still miss the excellent VB Commodore). Niall determined that a new O-ring in the fuel pump was out of spec. Well, these things happen, and he fixed the problem at no extra cost without trying to invent a story that would cost more money - I've had that often enough with other mechanics in the past. I have always found Niall and Col to be pleasant to deal with, they clearly explain the issues that NEED fixing, and provide excellent advice on what is likely to be a maintenance issue in the near future. I have always had a strong feeling of confidence in the integrity of Niall's business and I sure hope that that integrity wears off onto all of his junior mechanics when they go out on their own. I will be sorry to see the day when Niall retires.

I have moved around over the last few years and with that comes having to find a good place to get my car serviced.

I looked up the various reviews for this place and gave them a try a year back (I got my car recently serviced with them again).

Both times I have been very happy with the service and the first time, they even called up to ask if I wanted my spark plugs changed but advised it could wait to the next service.

They seem very friendly and explain things when asked in simple to understand terms. They even did a cool little safety analysis of my car on a printout which was nice.

These guys definitely get to keep my business and if you are looking for a place that do great work and dont rip you off, I highly recommend these guys.

Oh and another nice touch, they give you a bag of sweets when you pay your bill.
