Trackhead for the One Tree section of the Canberra Centenary Trail.
Best to park either at the Hall Pavilion (bottom of Hall St) or at the old Hall Primary School (Hoskins St or Palmer St).
A gem of a walk, though it has some hidden bends that the mountain bikers can suddenly appear around. btw, if you are mountain biking it, make sure you have a good view ahead and be prepared for pedestrians, kangaroos, wallabies, and occasionally cattle suddenly appearing around a blind corner!
Can be hot and dry in summer, and is closed on Total Fire Ban days.
The One Tree Lookout provides a unique view of Canberra.
There is a fair bit of bird life, depending on when you visit and how well you watch and listen, inc white cheeked honey eaters, white and black backed magpies, sulphur crested cockatoos, galahs, grey shrike thrushes, cockatiels, butcher birds, black-faced cuckoo shrikes, falcons/kestrels, occasional wedge-tailed eagles, etc
No toilets on the trail, but there are public ones down in the park/BBQ/bus area on Gladstone St, and if you're lucky, the ones at Hall Pavilion will be open.
Track conditions can be muddy after heavy rain.

Great walk with amazing views at the end. Note that there are stairs at the end of the track and can be muddy after rain.

User

Quite a nice walk with good views over Canberra, although spoiled somewhat by the construction work going on below in new nearby Gungahlin suburbs. There are seats at the lookout, the track could do with a seat or something similar mid way.

User

Excellent, but easy enough walk.

User

Love a good walk. Enigma the view.

User

Love this track and lookout... Path getting a little overgrown though.

User

Lovely 4 km walk up from Hall Village and the best views all the way.

Track conditions can be muddy after heavy rain. Still waiting for repair work Nov 2016, though it should dry out fairly soon.

Whether you walk or ride this is a must do trail in Canberra, the trail builders at Makin Trax did an excellent job on this trail. The views are spectacular from the top of One Tree Hill. You can also extend this hike or ride all the way to the Northern Border Campsite to Mulligans Flat. Highly recommended.
