Reviews
Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service. Unhurried.
Fast service with friendly staff but food was average. Degustation with wine excellent value though.
One of Canberra long time top eateries.two chefs hats, service is great only complaint would be the price. If you compare it to the newer places Raku the service is better but the food isn't quite as good maybe? However Ottwman is great for functions
The service is absolutely fantastic. Food was delicious.
The food and service here is amongst the best we have ever had. Our server (Annalyse) was a total professional in both her knowledge of the menu as well as her timing and politeness. The food was exceptional and was easily up there with any five star restaurant. The decor is more like a high class French restaurant with a Turkish twist but this perfectly set the mood for this classy restaurant! Can't wait to come back next time we are down in Canberra. Thank you for a great night.
The meal was brilliant from entree to dessert. The zucchini flowers were superb whilst the baklava was light and delicious.
Loved it! Beautiful food, great service, interesting building. Would definitely return
Staff are amazing. The waitresses made a boring family event into a fun one for me and my cousin. They're the real mvp's. Super lovely setting and prices are very affordable.
The best middle eastern restaurant I have been to. The food was exquisitely presented and cook to perfection with an awesome balance of spices. This is an awesome place to go with a special friend.
Great food and ambience. Wait staff were fairly prompt, but did not ask if more drinks were desired despite refilling our water several times. Likely would have said yes so missed opportunity for $$ there.
Nice setting, reasonable price, good food.
I had one of the worest experience , I arrived with my wife and 2 kids before 5 pm , receptionist was very rude and told me it's a resturant not a coffee , and they open at 6 pm .
When I asked to book at 6 she told me they are all fully booked.
I left the resturant and called them 2 minutes after and asked if they have booking for 4 , they confirmed they have booking at 6 pm and 8pm and I made a booking by phone.
I returned back to the resturant and asked why they didnt tell me that there is booking although they have. They were very rude and asked me to leave and denied that they have availability
I think it was sort of discremnation or something
Worest place ever. Not recommeneded
Note :the manager was there and didnt care
and asked us to leave
I have been fortunate to have enjoyed Ottoman Cuisine since it first opened in Manuka in the mid 1990s. Since moving to Barton it has rapidly become one of Canberra's premier Fine Dining Establishments. It's attentive staff, outstanding menu and exceptional wine list will delight everyone who has the good fortune to dine there.

Visiting with my girlfriend 2 weeks ago, we ultimately had a mixed experience at Ottoman Cuisine.
Let's start with the good - the food was pretty nice, arrived promptly, and once we were seated, we found the overall service level hit a nice blend of attentive and discreet. Although I did not catch his name, our server on the night was particularly excellent.
We also enjoyed the space of the restaurant - it has a nice, yet relaxed feel, and with the glass everywhere, it looks fantastic.
However, our overall experience was dulled considerably in the initial stages of our night - arriving a few minutes late for our 8:00pm booking, we were advised that there were no free tables (a poor start), and were advised we could order drinks and sit in the outdoor area (a couple of plastic chairs) whilst we waited.
And wait we did - after an hour of not hearing a peep from the restaurant staff, my patience ran out, and I followed up with the staff at the reception counter.
I soon realised that the team at Ottoman had completely forgotten about our arrival or wait for a table to become free. Whilst the staff were apologetic, and comped the single drink that we had each consumed, this still left a very sour taste in our mouth. If it had been earlier than 9:00pm, we would have left in search of other options.
Considering this restaurant bills itself as one of the best in Canberra, and charges accordingly, I would anticipate much better service standards.
Whilst I would not advise other diners to avoid Ottoman if they are particularly enthusiastic about Turkish cuisine, I will likely seek out other options next time I visit the nation's capital.
