The food is overpriced and average and the staff can be rude. Visit once for the famous shakes, maybe.

We knew the Freakshakes were over rated but really wanted to try food from their kitchen. Unfortunately kitchen was closed when we got there (very disappointed as no separate kitchen hours were listed on their site).

Ended up with the famous Freakshakes and donuts for lunch.. They were nothing special with most trendy cafes doing the same or better nowadays.

Wait staff were alright to us but noticed they were very snappy at some other customers.
Being one of the must visit spots in canberra, it definitely did not live up to the title.

Good for instagram I guess..

Food is awesome and freakshake are super freaky if you want to walk away feeling satisfied hit this place up

The staff are not overtly welcoming or friendly even though the place was not crazy busy at the time of our visit. The Freak Shakes were okay. We did not try the classic shakes but the food we had (all day breakfast) was of a good standard.

Freak shakes are a bit much, but in a good way. St Ali long Blacc was great for the stroll back to the hotel in the cold Canberra breeze.

I loved the coffee and milkshake but when I received the bill for my food I was shocked.

I ordered sourdough and avo (which isn't specifically listed with a price on the menu) and got one slice of bread and a tiny slice of avocado. They charged $4 for the avo and a solid $5 for one slice of sourdough, plus a 10% Sunday surcharge.

In comparison to the other dishes we ordered it seemed highly overpriced, so we asked the manager about it and all we got was "well avocado is really expensive and I have to pay my staff". Fair enough but this certainly doesn't justify $10 for one slice of avo on toast. We won't be back.

My brothers soccer team and the rest of the family went to get some food after the game. We were very exited for the freaky shakes . The first time we went there it was great they were quick and the food was good. But the second time was a different story. I order the strawberry cheese cake thicksake and it tastes like yogurt just yogurt and nothing else it didn't have everything they said it would have on it which is disappointing I know that the majority of the soccer team and my family didn't finish it.since there were so many of us at the restruant they started to put reserved tables to stop us from sitting down and one person working there would shout out the orders and roll his eyes because we took up the whole place.

Thank you for the excellent excellent service and food! Went in today for the freak shake I'd heard so much about. Saturday afternoon with four boys, 6 month, 5 years, 8 and 12 years. Although you were a chef down, you seated us promptly, found space for the pram, saw the desperation in my eyes when you told me it was a 30 min wait for food. You served me coffee and our freak shake in minutes keeping the boys at bay and food within ten minutes. Excellent chips and cheeseburgers kept kids and mum/ Aunty happy. Thank you so so much. Boys loves freak shakes. I loved you kind kind service!

If only I had of read the lower reviews I would have known what to expect. Service is shocking. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star as there is no option for 0. There were 5 of us that ordered drinks and food in which the waitress repeated our order back to us. After waiting for 45 minutes we asked where our order was. We were told that the drinks had not been sent through and that they would make them straight away. A few minutes later we also asked about the food order, we were told it won't be long... 20 minutes later we received 2 of our 5 meals.. after 10 minutes we asked where the rest of the meals were and they had not been sent through either.. as we had no time to wait for the meals to be made we had to leave. The one coffee that was ordered was cold. Disgusting service and there was no apology at all for the huge inconvenience that had been caused. The compensation was they would not charge us for everything!! LOL they didn't charge for the food we did not get... Definitely cannot recommend this place.

My order took 13 minutes to prepare and they didn't charge me because of the long wait. :)

Brilliant staff and amazing coffee! Couldn't be happier especially given I am there several times a day to feed my coffee addiction :)

Patient staff, took care of the small children and managed dietary requests with ease. Delicious Poached Eggs and Freakshakes are everything they look.

Great food, and service. The freakshakes are really what most people come for. But they also have great options for coffees and lunch foods.
