Phillip Medical & Dental Centre

1 star is more than enough for this clinic. 0 rating for some of the GPs and their attitude. In my opinion, one should go here only if all other clinics in the universe are closed.

This centre bulk bills but also allows people to pay to jump the queue and get an appointment straight away making the wait much longer for those who can't afford an appointment (and maybe even the odd few who see it as unfair and wait their turn). I have waited over six hours before and would not hesitate to give zero stars due to the unfair system, though as much as I find this system to be just plain wrong, the staff have always been polite and helpful. I have found it really difficult to find a Doctor who actually seems to care and is competent so after I was lucky enough to find Dr. Johar I won't go anywhere else. He always takes me seriously, is very thorough, consistent and considerate. For me it is worth the wait and frustration and that's why I give the five stars. Thank you Dr. Johar.

I found the reception staff really nice. However, the Dr barely spoke to me or even looked at me; only asked a couple of diagnostic questions and only glanced at my broken finger and generally treated me like he was doing me some kind of a favour. Sorry, but paying $75 upfront is not a favour!!

Visited the address to have an xray performed on the 1st floor, thought I would stop at the reception for the medical centre on ground floor to confirm directions.

Stood in front of the nurse/receptionist for 2 full minutes while she worked hard talking to a colleague desperately trying to ignore my presence.

Finally I went to excuse myself & interrupt the conversation when she turned & told me to just take a seat.

The staff demonstrated the worst service and communication skills I have ever seen, do yourself a favour & go anywhere else.

WORST MEDICAL PRACTISE I'VE EVER BEEN TO!
I booked an appointment for 10:00am on the 28th (it was a Wednesday) and was told first time consultations are $85. I arrived at around 9:45am and I was told there is no record of me making an appointment. So, I made another appointment for 11:45am and I left. I then arrived back at around 11:15am and at 12:15pm I was finally called in. I barely had a few minutes to talk to the very aggressive, rushed doctor about the particular eczema ointment I needed before he told me he has other people to see and accused me of lying about how long I waited past my appointment time. Then when he finally agreed to write me a prescription I was charged $90 instead of $85 like I was previously told.

Hi everyone don't go to Phillip medical centre as from last night as you won't get seen to as it's now a private medical centre the centre is a run down doctors don't give you the write information there's only two casual nurser

Didn't use a plastic hygiene cover over the ear thermometer and gave me a prescription (a) without checking my symptoms / questioning my self-diagnosis and (b) for a med that was nationally unavailable at the time. I didn't mind the hour wait - it's a walk-in bulk billing centre after all - but lack of hygiene and level of care are not acceptable.

Saw me at short notice in a Saturday morning. Obviously a bad time to need to see a Doctor, only waited an hour, which I though was reasonable. Excellent service, attentive staff, I would return here.
