Launched in 2007 by designer Kelli Donovan & photographer Sean Watson. Pure Pod has emerged as one of Australia’s largest ethical fashion brands and is considered to be a pioneer in the ‘Eco & Sustainable’ fashion industry. Pure Pod’s ethos is built on sustainability, ethics, a love of the environment & human nature. They pride themselves on using talented Australian crafts people & keeping our local fashion industry thriving, 100% ethically Australian Made.
Appealing to women who care about what they wear, quality and most importantly, an interest in sustainability, beautiful design, health & wellbeing. Pure Pod’s aim is to bring contemporary style to the eco-fashion movement and to give consumers a choice with meaning. Education of what fabrics, accessories, processes and manufacturing practices are available is an important facet of Pure Pods ethos.
With an ever-growing client base nationally, as well as internationally, Pure Pod has made an impression in a short period and has built a dedicated following. In less than 6 years since the launch, Pure pod have received numerous acclaims such as being a finalist in the 2011 FGI Sustainable Business Awards and being one of only 7 Australian fashion designers to showcase their collections in New York as part of the Australian governments “G’Day USA” promotion in 2011. More recently, in October 2012, Pure Pod was accepted by the Ethical Fashion Forum in the UK, to be a part of their “Fellowship 500” sustainable fashion collective, and was selected to show at the 2012 Asia Essential Textile Fair in Hong Kong as a sustainable designer collection and in Novemenber 2013 received the Green Lifestyle Award – “Best Fashion Product 2013”.
Based in the nations capital, Pure Pod recently wooed the crowds at the inaugural 4 night event “Fashfest”, seamlessly mixing with the mainstream fashion labels, and bringing sustainability to the catwalk.
