Ride For Unity Description

On the 30th of November 2014, one amazing 12 year old is going to be leading the Ride for Unity around Canberra - Dev was saddened by the discrimination Muslim Australians face, due to the misconception that all Muslims are terrorists (thanks to ISIS /ISIL & their media presence). He did a bit of research and discovered that actually the opposite is true - that most Muslims are peaceful people, who also hate what ISIS /ISIL are doing.

So. . . . . on the 30th of November, he is leading a bike ride around Canberra - visiting different faith centres, where there will be short prayers /meditations. It will be a lot of fun and we are asking people if they could be involved in the following ways

- join in part or all of the ride - it is going to be a very fun festive day. If you are interested, please let us know & we will send you all the details.

- we are looking for a photographer (or videographer) to record the day. We will be using a gopro on the day, but wanted to get a few more photos /videos of the day. If you are interested, please let us know.

- we are looking for a plain coloured cycle shirt with no logos on it for Dev to wear (he's a size child 14-16). They are surprisingly hard to find - if you have one we can borrow for the day, please let us know. )

- if anyone has a contact for getting a banner made (Ride for Unity), or who has the skills do that - we were hoping to put a banner on the back of the support vehicle (& use it for photos at the different stops along the way)

- if you can't attend but want to show your support, please leave a comment, or send us a message telling Dev of your support - he's a pretty amazing 12 year old

Dev is organising the Ride for Unity as a part of a project for school (Red Hill Primary), and as a part of his challenges for Scouts Australia (ACT Branch)
