Today we held the “Dress as a Farmer” fundraiser to help support the farming communities suffering through the drought. We raised $1300 – a great effort from everyone. The money raised will go directly to SchoolAid to support the “Hay and Hampers for Hope” fundraising initiative.

The Yr 6 “Eco-Energiser” team have been looking at ways for Rosary to reduce waste going to landfill. As part of this initiative they asked the canteen to look at alternatives to styrofoam cups. These have now been replaced by paper cups which can be recycled. Great work “Eco-Energisers” and thank you to the canteen for supporting our recycling initiatives.

Last night Yr5 wowed the audience at the Canberra Theatre with their Wakakirri Performance “Diamond in the Rough” (A retelling of Aladdin). Before the curtain came up there were a lot of nerves backstage but as the music started they hit their stride and delivered an energised, colourful and polished performance. Their expressive characterisation ensured that the audience were taken along for the ride as the story unfolded. A fantastic effort from all involved!

Last Wednesday Kinder achieved the milestone of being at school for 100 days! This special day was celebrated by making 100 in different ways, as well as playing all kinds of games with 100 numbers in them. Kinder also spent time with their buddies creating '100' body art, eating gelato and going on a hunt around the school for 100 lollies. Congratulation Kinder!

In the last week of Term 2 Kinder were lucky enough to have Ben (James’ dad) come and teach Science for the whole morning. Some of the exciting experiments included crushing a can with heat, changing fluorescent colours, burning paper (that didn’t really burn), looking through microscopes and making fossils. Kinder had an amazing time and learnt so much. Thanks Ben!

Year 6 have been having lots of fun over the last few weeks learning how to program using Lego Robotics. They have had to work as part of a team to design solutions in order to successfully navigate their robots around a variety of obstacles. Thank you to Andrew from SysSTEMic Innovations for providing us with such wonderful and fun learning experiences!
