They’re off! Entrants in this year’s OZ Outback Odyssey departed Birdwood early this morning on a seven-day trek through outback NSW and Queensland raising funds for the Flying Doctor. Good luck to all entrants, support cars and officials (all volunteers) on the 3000-kilometre journey benefiting outback towns along the way. Thanks to NAOS Asset Management for sponsoring the RFDS entry ‘Car 1928’, a great start to the event’s fundraising target of $150,000, kick-started of course by event Major Sponsor CMV Truck Sales.

First steel arrives at Dubbo! Our Dubbo redevelopment project is well under way and this morning we marked a signifcant milestone with the first load of steel rolling through the gates. We are so proud to be building this impressive facility at our Dubbo base - it will support so many aspects of our service delivery, as well as training and tourism.

Our Port Augusta night crew has just departed for a legendary outback location, Cameron Corner, the point where the boundary lines of the states of Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales meet.
A motorcyclist came unstuck earlier this evening, suffering a dislocated shoulder and ankle injuries. Thanks to the crew at Cameron Corner Store, the injured man is being transported to the nearest airstrip at Bollards Lagoon Station to meet the Flying Doctor crew who will airlift him to Royal Adelaide Hospital.
