THE BOWL is an artist-run adventure dedicated to pooling and promoting bright canberra-creatives

The Bowl inhabits a space open to experimentation, expression, and collaboration. Focusing on the facilitation of artistic presentation, and community based activities and events, we encourage dialogue to take place toward creative exchange.

The Bowl is focused on interpersonal relations, encouraging risk taking, diversity, and cross–pollination and innovation across artforms, disciplines, and age groups. We are interested in the way new forms of collaboration can change the way we stage an encounter. And the ways these can create original relations and new social configurations.

The Bowl supports original projects created specifically for the space, particularly those encouraging inclusion and participation. We hope to support young artistic development through connecting them with more experienced artists, designers, and crafts people. We are open to traditional modalities of art (those based on objecthood), whilst ideally searching for activities and modalities in art that go beyond objecthood; that venture into other realms of sensory experience, and alternate dimensions.

So, The Bowl is a receptive and open-platform for the values of experimentation and fluidity, open to all those who choose to invest, and so has the potential to fill and transform with whatever energy and initiative people throw in.
