The Durham Castle Arms

Lose a point coz the food is terrible. The nachos were disgusting, with what looked and tasted like liquid cheese from a bottle. Drinks were sensational, but that is the only thing propping this joint up.

We go here regularly because we can have a meal and a drink while giving our dogs an outing. The food is good and because we are so busy talking, we don’t know how good the service is. It can’t be too bad because my son is always hungry.

Great place to go for a quality cheap meal in a cosy atmosphere. Extensive range of beer on tap and a large group dining in, which is always a good sign. Though I had a great burger, which was home made style, I am confident that from other meals I saw being delivered, that whatever you choose from the menu, will be a quality product. Pubs such as these are hard to come by these days, so do yourself a favour and give them a try. I was glad I did that's for sure!

Super friendly place with the best selection of beers in Canberra. The taps are always changing over which means there is always an excuse to head back down to the pub. Meals have improved dramatically over the last couple of years with top quality steaks, schnitzels and burgers.

Not a trendy pub, but a comfy laid back one

Best pub in Canberra. One of the only places with a decent selection of beers and a rotating roster. Great food, great vibe. Little out of the way but worth a drive out.

My Tuesday trvia night:
7:08 order 4 entrees/plates to share
7:50 ask the staff for some information on where the food is
8:04 staff member let's us know they are out of potato skins so cannot produce one of the entrees.
8:15 two of the four entrees arrive. Finger food but no serviettes provided
8:32 third entree arrives
8:45 fourth entree arrives but is the wrong meal.
8:50 correct fourth entree arrives.

Meanwhile a friend at my table had to send her burger back twice as she was given the wrong meal. Twice.

Great pub. Old English decor. Great vibes inside. Very cosy and welcoming. Definitely try a few of the beers they have on tap. They have great local brews, and a few international beers too. Recommend the tasting tray. Staff have a good knowledge of the beers. Great place to find a new favourite beer.

I was looking for a good Canberra pub and found the Durham Castle Arms. What an excellent find, good food, excellent atmosphere and a good selection of boutique beers.
We had the Mex burger, veg lentil burger and kids had lamb meatballs and mash,.
Mex burger was pretty good while veg burger was as ok as a lentil burger goes.
Kids meats were good and the accompanying ice cream was of good portion and qaulity.
I would highly recommend this pub to all who visit or live here.

Best range of craft beers on tap. Beers are rotated regularly so you can always find something new. Grab a paddle and you can sample three at a time!

I was therefor their Tuesday night special. I joined fifteen other guys for great food and drink. The steak and mushrooms was superb and the serving sizes were generous. The atmosphere was loud and upbeat. Can't wait for my next visit.

Twelve taps, 90% craft, and a couple dozen more in bottles. A fine craft beer bar and a must-visit if you find yourself in the Australian capital. Knowledgeable staff and friendly samples as well.
