Decent service.

Easy drink after work. Happy hour is only house wine and beer. If you want cheap drinks on a Friday. Head across the road.

Nice atmosphere. Popular with public servants on Fridays. Toilets are a flight of stairs away so not good for mobility-challenged.

Good location. Acoustics suitable for casual relaxed conversation. Reasonably priced.

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Well positioned to be within walking distance of a lot of Canberra's main attractions too.

Reasonably priced lunch menu

I had a 30 minute business meeting at this establishment last week, the second time I have been there. Two basic coffee orders took 25 mins, despite the restaurant certainly not considered bustling. There was one large group seated at a table which I acknowledge could have resulted in a slight delay. When I politely asked Sophie, one of the most unpleasant staff I have ever come across, to change the order "to go" after 25 minutes of waiting, the look of displeasure on her face was evident. When she returned, I told her to let the barista know that 25 minutes for two "long blacks" was a long time. She raised her voice at me asking whether I could not see how busy the restaurant was (it was most certainly not!). My response was that all she needed to do was apologise for the wait and the outcome would probably have been different. Instead, the response snapped back from "pleasant Sophie" was "if you don't like it, don't come back!". Second time there, never again and will discourage everyone I know. I really want to support Canberra businesses, but with service like this, why should I pay for verbal abuse? The coffee was average.
