About Winston Churchill Trust (Australia)

The Churchill Trust was established in 1965 to honour the memory of Sir Winston Churchill, and offers Fellowships to Australian citizens and permanent residents. Churchill Fellowships are a life-changing opportunity to travel overseas for four to eight weeks to learn more about a topic or issue that you're passionate about. No educational qualifications are needed to apply, and you can choose your own topic. The next round of applications open 1 March 2023. Churchill Fellowships allow you to design your own investigative project, travel the world and further your knowledge in your chosen field, before returning to make a real contribution to Australian society. Since its inception, the Churchill Trust has awarded Churchill Fellowships to more than 4, 600 Australians who, like Churchill, are innovative, filled with a spirit of determination and possess a strong desire to benefit their community.
